I am barely awake when I hear light talking surround the room. I open my eyes a little bit to adjust to the sun shining in from the window and roll over to my back. My eyes land on Derek and some of his friends talking. They haven't noticed that I'm awake yet so I just listen to what they are talking about.

"The house is all set; we have cameras set up outside the house and, also, about five clicks out with motion sensors so if anything moves it alerts us right away and even if someone was to kill the power they would still work", some guy says who I haven't seen before.

My brother nods at the news "Good, good. What about her room? Is it safe for her? Can she stay in her room safely without being in danger if something happens", he asks.

"Yes, Sir! The windows are bulletproof and can only be opened from the inside. Her door is bulletproof as well and if someone tries to break it down they will end up breaking their leg. We made a metal door look like wood so they won't see that coming", someone else answers.

My brother nods again, "What if she's not in her room and she can't get to it in time", he asks rubbing his chin and looking at his men.

A guy smiles and steps forward "If and that's a big "if" someone gets into the house when she is home alone, we placed a panic button. We will show her later where it is and how it works. It sends a signal to everyone and the basement is made into a panic room or in other words a safe room. We reinforced everything in there and put computer screens so she will be able to see where the intruder is at all times in the house", he says rubbing his hands together and nodding his head, "Oh and all the windows in the house, in fact, are bulletproof", he adds.

My brother nods once again to the information that he's receiving, "Very good. What about when she is not at home like say she's at school or out with friends", he asks them next.

"We have a panic button for her to carry with her when she goes out and it has a tracking device just in case we need to find her if someone takes her", another of the men says and my brother nods his head once again.

"Good because I want what's best for her and I don't want to just lock her up in the house. I want her to start having a life again and for her to have fun without her worrying", Derek says standing up. He looks like he is going to look my way so I close my eyes because I don't want them to know that I am awake yet.

"So when does she get to get out of here", I hear a voice that I recognize as Mark's ask.

"Today, the doctor said that she is doing well and that she can leave later in the day", Derek confirms and I feel relief wash over me. I am finally getting out of here!

I decide that I don't want to fake sleep anymore so I move and stretch like I am just waking up. I bring my hands to my eyes and rub them gently. Opening my eyes I notice that everyone is looking at me. My brother, Mark, and Jose are smiling at me which I return while the others just kind of hung around in the back waiting to see what will happen.

My brother walks over to the bed and helps me sit up, "Good morning. How are you feeling today", he asks me and sits on the chair next to my bed.

I smile a little, "Good morning and I'm feeling better", I say looking at the others in the room.

"Good morning Mark, Jose", I greet the guys with a small smile.

"Good morning", they say together and I laugh a little bit at the glare that they give at each other from saying it at the same time.

"Hey, Niykee this is Mac and Eric they are my men as well. They have been helping getting the house ready and some other things", Derek explains pointing to the other guys in the room. They nod when he says their names so now I know who's who.
