Apocalyptic Love

The beginning-Chapter 1

It all started when Leslie and Carl were at school. They were learning about fractions in Math Class, and their teacher passed out the homework. Leslie and Carl sit next to each other and they both despise math class. They are only in the 4th grade and hate math so much. After the teacher finishes up her lesson, there is 15 minutes of class left and they are free to go. The teacher says "Alright, we have finished our lesson for today, as always, be free to talk and play some math games." The teacher sits down at her desk and does some paper work. Leslie and Carl look at each other and smile. Carl says "Finally, school is almost over." He says with relief. Leslie says "yeah, finally, I do not enjoy math class so much." The principal makes an announcement saying "Students, I want you all to leave the school building and get home safely, an emergency has occurred and we need all of you to get home." Leslie and Carl look at each other and start packing their things. Leslie and Carl leave the school running because they know what emergency means. Leslie says "Maybe it's a fire drill." Carl says "Maybe" They both leave the school safely. They look around and everything seems to be normal. Leslie says "Your house is the closest! Come on, Carl!" Leslie grabs Carl's hand and starts racing to his house. Carl laughs and then notices a person, but it doesn't look much like a person, a person does not make groaning sounds like that. Carl just shrugs it off cause his parents say anyone that seems weird is probably just a crazy drunk person or something. Carl keeps noticing some other people looking at them. Leslie is too busy to notice anything. Carl then starts to think that something seems odd with these people. Why does he keep seeing so many of them? They arrive safely at home and lock the door. Carl and Leslie are home alone, Rick or Lori, Carl's parents, aren't home from work. Leslie says "Did you see anything weird? I still don't know what kind of emergency this can be!" Carl nods his head and says "Yeah, I saw some weird people, they were making weird noises, and I saw so many of them, not just one or two. Like 20 of them!" Leslie says "Weird noises? No one really makes weird noises." Carl says "At first, I thought it was some crazy weird people like our parents usually say, and they tell us not to stare, but I saw so many that it had to be something else." Leslie says "If they make weird noises...then...is it Walkers?! Like in those Tv shows and movies?!" Carl then gets where Leslie is getting at and says "Maybe it is!! No one makes weird noises like that!! Not even weird crazy people!" Leslie says "What if they come banging on our door?! They will try and kill us!" Carl puts his hand over Leslie's mouth quickly and silently says "Shhh..." Some Walkers we're passing by the house, and if they make too much noise, then they would be in some real big trouble. Carl whispers "Lets pack some bags, with food, water, medicine, and anything else we will need..." Leslie nods her head and gets a backpack and goes to the kitchen. Carl gets a backpack too and starts to pack some food. Leslie starts packing some food too. They get most of the food and water and other beverages. Leslie goes to the bathroom to see if they will need any important medications, she also packs up the first aid kit. Carl looks around the house for weapons, his dad is the sheriff so there was bound to be some guns somewhere. Carl knew how to use one. Leslie goes back to Carl and says "Weapons? I already got the medicine." Carl looks under the bed and finds a suitcase, he takes it out and opens it and finds a pistol. Carl takes it and puts it in his pocket. Leslie says "Do you know how to use it?" Carl nods his head and says "I am the sheriff's son, I have to know how to use it in case of emergencies." Carl packs some ammo too. Leslie peeks out the window to see if any walkers were passing by. There were only a few, but they were far away, they weren't too close to the window. Leslie couldn't see Rick's car either, and it looked like Lori wasn't coming any time soon. Leslie ran right back to Carl, and Carl was practicing how to aim a gun. Leslie says "Be careful not to shoot it! You don't want to cause any attention!" Carl puts it back in his pocket and says "I know, just practicing how to aim, making sure I didn't forget." Leslie says "We should leave the house and look for our parents." Carl nods his head, grabs Leslie's hand and leaves through the back door. Now they were set for survival.
