Pets- Chapter 19

Carl was thinking about the fight laying on his and Leslie's bed staring at the ceiling. Leslie was sitting on the bed looking at Carl. She says "Are you still thinking about the fight?" Carl nods his head as his reply. Leslie sighs and says "Were you that mad at him?" Carl who is still staring at the ceiling says "Yeah. How can I not be? He pushed you!! He talked nasty towards you! That triggered me!" Leslie says "Yeah, I can tell, you could have bet him to death." Carl says "If I had the chance I would've." Leslie stares at Carl in shock. Carl looks at her and says "Hey, you spoke to me about your dog once. Where is he?" Leslie thinks and says "I have no idea, he might still be at my house, or maybe he died of starvation! O-or maybe the walkers invaded my house and they took him away! Maybe they ate him!" Leslie starts rambling about all the things that could have happened to Sky. Carl sits up and scoots over to Leslie and says "Okay, look, I'm sure your dog isn't dead, maybe someone found him, or maybe he is looking for you, you know how dogs are always looking for their owners, it happens all the time." Hiro walks past their room, he overheard their conversation and says "He died. It's official." Leslie forms tears in her eyes and says "H-he is dead...? My doggie can't be dead! He can't be!" Carl walks over to Hiro and gets his fist ready and says "Bastard." Hiro looks down at his fist and gets ready for round 2. Leslie runs over to Carl and hugs him tight. Carl stares at Hiro with that death stare, Hiro says "He has to be dead. Everyone dies at some point." Leslie starts crying and Carl rubs her back. Hiro says "Just like Carl will die at some point, and he may get bit by a walker, and YOU may have to shoot him." Leslie keeps crying while saying "No, that won't happen." Lia passes by and looks at Leslie and says "Woah! Why is Leslie crying?! Hiro!! Did you cause this?!" Hiro says "I was just saying the truth. Her dog has to be dead. One day Carl will die too. I's the truth." Lia says "You are just saying that because both your brother and cat are dead! You don't need to make others sad because of it!" Lia hugs Leslie rubbing her back. Carl says "Like seriously, what the fuck dude? She is sensitive! Just leave, I'm not gonna fight you today." Hiro walks away with his hands in his pockets. Lia says "Alright, so he said your dog is dead, But I'm sure he isn't, dogs can survive in a world like this! They can defeat walkers!" Leslie sniffling says "Really...?" Lia nods her head smiling. Leslie says "Okay...maybe he is still alive out there, there is still a chance he can be." Lia says "I am 100% sure he is still alive, he won't just die on you!" Carl picks up Leslie putting her on his back. Leslie smiles. 

LATER, Negan comes back from a little hunt with a tiny chihuahua and a japanese bobtail cat. The chihuahua barks at Negan and growls, he then jumps down from his grasp and runs off. The cat follows the dog, not running but speed walking with his tail in the air. The dog sniffs the ground all the way until he reaches a building, barks, and then runs inside searching the halls. The japanese bobtail cat keeps following, speed walking at his own pace. Leslie, who is laying in her bed looks around, but can't find anything. The dog then jumps on top of Leslie and Carl's bed and barks repeatedly. Leslie looks at the dog and covers her mouth. The dog jumps on her lap and licks her face very fast. Leslie hugs the dog tight. Sky continues to lick her face. Mochi is having his own fun time in Hiro's room, licking his face and purring. Carl arrives back in the room and smiles at the scene. Sky looks at Carl and growls. Carl puts his hands in the air and says "Woah, overprotective much?" He laughs. Leslie picks up Sky ad walks over to Carl so Sky can sniff him. Sky sniffs Carl's face and licks his cheek Just a little bit. Carl puts his hands down and pets Sky and says "Hey bud." Sky barks happily. Carl grabs Sky and holds him. Leslie says "Well, you have some experience with pets for a guy who has never had one." Carl smiles and Sky gets comfortable in his arms. Leslie says "He is getting used to you, I thought he would hate you since your my boyfriend." Sky looks up at Carl with that face that explains it all. Carl pets Sky and Sky gets back to laying his head down on Carl's arms. Mochi curls into a ball on Hiro's lap and falls asleep there. Hiro pets Mochi. At night, Carl is sleeping with his arm around Leslie, Leslie is sleeping while hugging Sky and Sky is sleeping peacefully, but he is also sleeping with caution that something might happen, nothing will happen but I believe that every dog is a light sleeper and sleeps with caution, one little noise and they just wake up. Mochi is sleeping on Hiro's stomach and Hiro is sleeping with his arm on Mochi.

I know the pic for this chapter isn't what Carl looks like now but I just can't get that pic out of my head because his face just describes it all. He looks like that overprotective boyfriend when they see you with someone else.
