Apocalyptic Love

2 Years Later- Chapter 45

All the teens are 18 now. Judith is 5. Asher is 9. Pearl is 2. Leslie still hasn't been found and her and Carl haven't seen each other for almost 3 years now. Enid was walking around through the woods. Carl was following behind her. Enid finds a note on the tree and she reads it. She gets a shocked look on her face. Carl says "What is it?" The note says "Hi, It's Leslie. If any of the teens are reading this, yes, I am fine. I am safe now. I hope you guys are doing well, especially the kids. I miss them so much...I miss Carl too..." Little do they know, Leslie wrote this when she was still 16, so it's not a recent message. Carl reads it and the note looks really old, wrinkled, and dirty. Carl says "Glad she left us a note..." Carl smiles. Enid says covering her mouth "We haven't heard from her in years! She is safe, and she is fine." They continue walking and find another. It says "I know what you guys are wondering, where am I? I am in a community, they took me in very easily. Read my other notes to find out which community. I will lead you to it." Carl says "She will lead us to it, are we seriously gonna see her again?" Enid nods her head smiling and says "I have no doubt about it!" They keep walking and keep finding more and more notes. The last one that they find shows them directions to a house. They have to find the house which is where the final clue will be. The note had said she left the map to the community that she personally drew in the house for anyone to find. They search everywhere for this house and cannot find it. They decide to tell everyone tomorrow so they can have more people out looking for it. They just can't believe that they will finally see Leslie after all these years. 

The next day. Pearl was crying so Carl picked her up and started singing You Are My Sunshine. Pearl was looking up at Carl sniffling, but calming down. He finished the song and says "Hey, you shouldn't be crying...Mommy is coming back." That got Pearl really excited. She started clapping and giggling. 

Now, Carl was carrying Pearl. Asher and Judith were holding hands and following all the teens. Everyone was looking out for the house. Asher and Judith were so happy, they just couldn't want to see Leslie again. The community she was in had to be very nice and very safe. Some of the teens would be exploring the houses. They needed to check every house in case of any maps. They couldn't find any map. The kids still were happy but got sad whenever they heard that no map was found. They would keep each other entertained by reading the book and running in circles. 

They finally checked their last house of the day and they finally found the map. Then while they were all in the house, they heard loud footsteps and gunshots from outside. The teens got their weapons out and Carl was upstairs with Enid and the kids. Carl shoved Enid in the closet immediately and puts the kids in the closet too. Carl locks the closet. Enid says "H-hey!! Carl!! Let us out!!" Enid started banging on the door. Carl says "Be quiet! Trust me! Stay quiet!" Enid says "Not until you tell me what is going on!" Carl says "This was all a trap! There are people who are coming to get us! I am doing the same thing to you like I did to someone else! Let's just hope this time they don't find you guys!" Enid gets quiet but then says "But what if you don't come back? How am I supposed to live with that?" Carl sighs and says "Just survive somehow."

Carl then walked off and the kids who were with Enid stayed quiet. They knew what was happening. Some men and a guy who looked very familiar were in the house. The man's name was Gareth. Gareth speaks up and says "Well, look who we have here. We have heard about you teens." Alyssa says "How?" Gareth says "We just have. Your attacks. All that. You guys are pretty famous. People call you The Rebels, or the Troublesome Teens, names like that." Gareth then looks around and says "This isn't your whole group. You are missing someone." Carl gets shocked and says "Yeah, we are missing someone. She left us." Gareth says "Oh, the girl? I remember her, the one with the very long hair?" Carl nods his head and says "Yeah. She left us." Gareth says "Dang, she must have abandoned you guys. I heard she was very helpful." One of the men come back with Enid and the kids. Enid was carrying Pearl and holding Judith's hand. Asher was holding onto Judith's other hand. Gareth says "Now we have the whole group. Don' worry, I won't hurt you guys. Maybe our leader will though. They aren't so mean unless you rebel. But, they probably will because you guys are rebels." 

They take all the teens to the Van where there are a whole bunch of boxes and tie them all up with ropes. Pearl and Judith don't get tied up. Asher gets handcuffs, something that won't hurt him. Carl says "Dammit..." Gareth then gets inside the truck with the teens. He says "Oh, by the way. You guys shouldn't have followed those notes. We knew that your friend Leslie was missing from your group. So, we created those notes, and we lead you to the house." Carl looks up at Gareth with a face that says I am going to kill you. 

Before they leave, Carl notices a truck with a girl beside it. Just like he saw when was 16. The girl had her long hair, it wasn't up to her butt, but it grew a little longer and was almost to her butt. At her lower back. It couldn't have been Leslie though. The girl was wearing a red shirt and a grey jacket with some jeans. 

Then the truck they were in took off. 

When they arrived. All the teens and the kids had to exit the truck. They saw a familiar face and were shocked. They couldn't believe that they would see this person again. Carl says "I can't believe it...How..."
