Memories- Chapter 53

This chapter is going to be all about the memories Carl and Enid shared.))

Carl was in his cell in the corner. He still hasn't gave up on what he could do to escape. It's been a whole day and there is absolutely no way to escape. He can't hit a guard and steal the key cause his hands can't even fit through the bars. There was nothing in the cell to use. He just decided to stay in the corner until Negan wanted to chat with him. He thought about what him and Enid used to do together.

First he thought of rollerblading. He remembered when she still had the rollerblades. They would hold hands together.

FLASHBACKS...

Enid smiled and said "I have an idea." Carl looks at her with some confusion and Enid takes out rollerblades. Carl smiles and says "Rollerblades? Really? How in the hell do you even still have those?" Enid giggles and smiles "I've had them saved for awhile." Carl says "Well come on then!" The two teenagers sit down on the ground and put on their rollerblades. Once they got them properly on, they got up, and started skating. Enid was laughing and she looked at Carl. Carl was smiling having the time of his life. He looked over at Enid and then they held hands, intertwining their fingers together.

Enid was chatting with the girls and then went up to Carl. Carl looked at her and says "Yeah, Enid?" Enid says "Bandage time." Carl says "Enid, I can change it by myself." Enid nods her head no and says "Let me do it." Carl nods his head no and Enid gets a bandage and starts making it like Leslie does. Carl sighs and takes off his bandage. Enid looks at Carl's missing eye and hisses. "Jesus..." Carl runs his hands through his hair to get a better view of his eye and says "Yeah..." Enid puts the bandage on Carl's eye and adjusts it so it can be comfortable on him. He smiles and kisses Enid's head making her smile.

Carl had found fireworks and sparklers. He was sitting down with Enid watching them. They were holding hands and at one point Enid laid her head on Carl's shoulder. A little longer into the night and they kissed while the fireworks were still going. Then they started playing with sparklers, they were running around laughing and having the time of their life.

One time, in one of the houses that all the teens were in, Carl and Enid were alone one time. Carl needed help on protecting the kids but Enid didn't wanna stay, she wanted to leave because she felt that if she was alone, she would have a better chance of survival. Carl sat in the middle of the floor and said "Sit behind me..." Enid sighed and decided to do it. She sat behind Carl holding her knife in her hand. Carl was sitting with his gun in his hand. Carl says "I know you were planning on leaving." Enid wasn't surprised because it seemed pretty obvious. Carl says "Don't tell me goodbye..." Enid says "Okay...I won't..." She stayed after that.

Carl was driving the car that killed the walker which was following Enid. Carl rolls down the window of the car and Enid says "What are you doing here?" Carl smirks and says "Felt like a drive." Enid folded her arms and says "Why did you follow me?" Carl gets out the car and says "Because you are not going to leave like Leslie did, I lost one and I am not going to lose another." Enid sighs and smiles. Carl puts his hand on her cheek and smiles. Enid melts into the touch, his hand was warm and it made her feel safe and calm. They both got into the car and Carl decided to drive somewhere new. He drove to a hilltop. Enid got in the backseat and looked from the back window at how beautiful the place was. Carl got in the backseat to join her. After awhile, the two lovebirds got caught in the moment and kissed.

One day, Enid and Carl were walking through the woods. They stumbled upon the tree again, and stared at it. Since the two teens have been together for awhile, Enid took out her knife and carved on the tree Enid and Carl. Carl smiled and patted Enid's head. They got inside the tree and just decided to stay in there until they got caught up in the moment and kissed.

Carl and Enid decided to go through the woods since they were bored. Enid was walking through the woods looking at all the trees and hoping maybe someone left a snack or two that she could scavenge. Carl was following behind her. Enid got annoyed that he was always following her, so she started running. Carl ran after her. Then they both were laughing.

The day when Carl saw the truck and a girl who resembled Leslie. Carl looked at Enid and says "Enid, I have to follow that truck." Enid looked up at Carl and says "Carl, please don't go. It can't be her anyways!" Carl kept looking at the truck and then looked back at Enid and says "Enid, what if that is her?" What if she just cut her hair? She probably did. I need to see her again." Enid looked at Carl with puppy dog eyes and says "Please...don't..." Carl kept looking at the girl and sighed. "Please...Don't be Leslie..." Enid hugs Carl and says "It's not her..."

Carl shoved Enid in the closet. He also put the kids in the closet too. Carl locked the closet so they wouldn't be able to get out. Enid says "H-hey!! Carl!! Let us out!!" Enid was banging on the door. Carl says "Be quiet! Trust me! Stay quiet!" Enid says "Not until you tell me what is going on!" Carl says "This was all a trap! There are people who are coming to get us! I am doing the same thing to you like I did to someone else Let's just hope this time they don't find you guys..." Enid got quiet but then opens her mouth to say "But what if you don't come back? How am I supposed to live with that?" Carl sighs and says "Just survive somehow."

Sometimes, When Enid would be by herself, Carl always got scared that something may happen to her. So, when she would leave, he would watch her from the windows. Just to see which direction and path she would choose to go down. He always left the house and would follow her from a reasonable distance. He would do this because he didn't wanna lose another person. Sometimes, Enid would catch him. One time she said "Carl, stop following me." He smiled that she knew he was behind her. So, Carl decided to walk in the woods where he can still see her. When she turned around, there was no Carl. So, she thought it was just her mind playing tricks on her.

Carl and Enid were scavenging one day and they found some chocolate pudding. This was back when they were 17. They had scavenged and found about 4 chocolate puddings. They didn't wanna share with the rest of the group so they went somewhere where they couldn't be found. In the woods, they sat by a tree and ate all the pudding. Some pudding got on Carl's cheek and Enid looked at him and wiped it off his cheek. "You boys are always so messy. I always have to clean up after Asher and his messes." Carl shrugs and says "We are always messy!" He laughs a little and so does Enid.

Enid and Carl went back driving to the hill top. They stood there for about 3 hours, and then it started getting dark. Enid looked at Carl and says "Hey, it's getting dark..." Carl shrugs and says "So? We need to wait, I gotta show you something." Enid liked where this could be going so she stayed instead of leaving. The stars slowly started showing up and she got shocked at how pretty they were. Carl says "This is something I never got to show Leslie..." Enid looks at Carl and says "This is so pretty..." Carl nods his head and says "It is...I always look at the stars when I'm stressed about stuff." Enid smiles and the two teenagers enjoy the rest of the night gazing up at the starry night sky.
