The Eye and More Death- Chapter 29

About a week later, both teens were walking the streets of the town. The place looks like a town because of all the buildings and the stores. The teens were both off to their positions, which was to just stand in the front gate in case of walkers or people even. They got to their post, but after awhile it got pretty boring, so Carl asked Leslie "You wanna go down and check out the area? There is nothing we can see from up here." Leslie said "Yeah, there is no walkers or people from this view." Leslie hopped down and Carl did the same right after her. They started to explore the area, they ran into the tree, you guys remember the tree? Leslie got inside it and Carl got in as well. Leslie was looking at Carl and Carl was looking back at her. Until Carl broke the tension and kissed Leslie straight away. Leslie kissed him back playing with his hair as well. Carl smiles and pulls away. Leslie smiles and then they leave the tree hand in hand like always. They walk away from the community and start to hear some walker noises. It sounds like just one, so they don't worry about it until they hear it coming closer and closer and then they stop, they hear it, it sounds pretty close. They are looking around for it until something grabs Carl's leg and Carl says "Ah! A crawler?! The heck?!" Carl starts moving his leg around so he won't get bit. The crawler is dragging it's guts, you can see the intestines, looks like someone just chopped a person in half and then they came back as a walker. The crawler had a blood trail, it would just crawl towards you and try to nom on your ankles. You could also see the ribs of the crawler, seems like he hasn't had a bite to eat for awhile. Leslie stabbed the walker, blood started coming out from the walker's head and Leslie removed the knife from it's skull. The walker laid there dead, ain't no surviving that head shot. Carl smirks and says "Once again, you saved my life. I owe you." Leslie says "You just owe me kids and that's it." She laughs and Carl stands there and says "Alright, but when we are 18." Leslie blushes at his statement. Now Carl is the one laughing. 

You can then hear an announcement on the speaker. Leslie and Carl have to get back to the community because Negan needs everyone to see what he is going to do. Probably gonna make some stupid speech about more protection and more people, probably gonna assign people to go scavenging and to find more people for more protection. Leslie and Carl race back to the community and head to the designated area. It was in a room with a large furnace. Negan is talking with an old man by the name of Gabriel. Gabriel is standing there looking brave and tall, but on the inside, he is probably scared and wants to run to his mommy. Leslie and Carl have to stand on this balcony looking thing. Leslie whispers "Why did he choose this place for a silly announcement...?" Carl looks at Leslie and shrugs. Carl and Leslie focus on whatever Negan is going to do. Negan is pacing around Gabriel and then he starts saying "So, Gabriel? You do help a lot around here, you make nice clothing for everyone, very stylish, very fashionable. You also deliver important information when I need it." Negan takes a quick look at Leslie after he said that. Leslie thought of it as nothing cause Negan is basically looking at everyone in the room. Gabriel nods his head and says "That is true, I do." Negan says "So tell me, why were you sending supplies off to other people?" Gabriel says "I don't know what you are talking about." Negan chuckles and says "Don't play dumb with me. I know you were sending supplies off to other people, tell me, why do they need supplies when they can scavenge for their own?" Gabriel shrugs and says "They can scavenge for their own, I wasn't sending supplies off to others, maybe a savage teen was sending them. You have many teens here, they all seem wild and seem like they would do some horrible things to harm your community." Negan smiles and says "Now which teen would harm my community? Tell me. Point them out. I wanna know the bastard teen who would do so." Gabriel says "I can point out a couple." Gabriel points to Blake, Hiro, Enid, Eliza, Kelvin, Tuba, and Carl. Negan looks at all the teens and chuckles. "You pointed out my daughter as one of them." Gabriel shrugs and says "She looks like she would give out supplies to people." Negan says "You pointed out Blake, who is a very savage boy, but he has his girlfriend in the hospital who would need those supplies so he wouldn't do it. Hiro probably would, but he wouldn't do it since he is already dating someone. The one he is dating is such a sweet little girl, he wouldn't do such a thing behind her back. Enid helps me out, she knows she would be caught quickly if she was doing such an evil thing. Eliza is my daughter and Marie is one of her bestest friends, so she needs those supplies. Kelvin would definitely not do it, Tuba either, she is a savage but she won't do that since she is also best friends with Marie. Carl would definitely not do it either cause Leslie, his girlfriend, wouldn't even allow it." Gabriel is suddenly shocked at all these reasons, it's like Negan had an excuse for all of them. Negan gets close to Gabriel's face and says "Alright, so you gave away our supplies. How could you? I trusted you to just continue on in this community as if it was your own life. Do what you love, not do what you shouldn't, obey the rules, not break them." Gabriel says "Well, I did, what are you going to do about it?" Negan smirks and looks around at everyone "This is what we do to bad people who don't obey the rules around here!" Everyone watches closely and Negan pushes Gabriel into the furnace where he burns to his death. You can hear him scream in agony, the fire all over his body. His face and his arms, his whole body, his skin was melting and you can see blood falling into the fire. Then after awhile you can see his bones slowly burn up into ashes. Leslie stares in shock and so does the rest of the teens. Negan then looks up at where Carl and Leslie are and orders the both of them to his office. 

When they get to Negan's office, Negan sits in his chair and Carl and Leslie sit on a couch that is in his office, a pretty comfortable couch. Negan says "I'm sorry that all of you teens needed to see that happen, but that's just what happens when people disobey my rules, which is why you should never break my rules, I have rules for a reason, to keep everyone safe." Carl says "We know." Negan looks at Carl and asks "Hey, you never really mentioned your eye, what happened?" Carl says "A kid shot me, right in my eye, I had to be rushed to a professional doctor. Luckily, I survived." Carl holds Leslie's hand tight. Leslie squeezes Carl's hand showing that she is not liking Negan so much. Carl squeezes her hand back. Negan says "May I see what it looks like?" Carl looks at Leslie and Carl takes a deep breath. Carl starts taking off his eye patch and when he finishes, Negan says "Goddamn! That bullet got you good!" Carl nods his head and Leslie looks at Carl's eye and kisses his cheek. Carl smiles and Negan keeps talking about Carl's eye and about his past. In the end, Carl decided that he would keep his eye patch off for a while.
