Chapter Fifty

No blood spilled.

As soon as she touched Jason the hallucination or illusion disappeared but an answer was left behind and it was that "this is not real,Melody never was" then everything broke an earthquake of the mind was beginning and Rapunzel was fighting harder then ever for everything and everyone she loved even though the list only consisted of herself,Peter and there son Rumple. "WAKE UP" She heard Peter's voice a strong echo in her mind and then her eyes burst open to a shocked scientist "how are you doing this?" she did not comprehend his question so she ignored it but he clearly wanted an answer as he clicked a button and shock waves of electricity went through her and she gasped and breathed heavily she refused to give this sadist the benefit of knowing he was hurting her, pain is something Rapunzel has becomed all to accustomed to, but with her silence made pressure and higher voltage "WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM US!" she relented at the top of her lungs.

"I need to know how your ridiculous enchanted brains work they are different from our human brains" he retorted this took Rapunzel aback "we have heart beats we are human you people are the monsters" he only snickered and injected her with something to numb her mouth and this shut her up but Rapunzel let the mucus build up and whooshed it at his face, he took the spit off his face and sat down and watched her that was all he watched her as if something under a microscope.

"I will get out of here, you will pay for this!" when the scientist was not looking one of her hands slipped in his pocket and pulled out also hid a remote then began clicking all the buttons, the lights went off and finally her shackles were open along with the cameras being disabled the only light working was a flashing red one which indicated emergency or escape but as far as Rapunzel was concerned she was a ghost and ran out of the room and down the stairs.

"Nice work" it was Jason he was standing in front of her with a gun a .45 caliber but Rapunzel was unwavering in her escape "out of my way" she took two steps closer but she heard the click of the gun, meaning that the bullet was loaded "take another step,I dare you" this was a one way road so Rapunzel looked the other way toward a wall on her left to draw Jason's attention then charged at him and a bang went off Jason had shot Rapunzel in the gut but she did not growl in pain or show anguish instead she kept running and watching the town in a panic with guards running around. Rapunzel was dizzy from blood loss but she made it to the forest far from Storybook and collapsed onto the cold snow covered ground "so it's December" Rapunzel's last thought was the image of Peter and Rumple walking toward her saying 'I love you' and a sweet kiss in an endless shadow. Then a light shined through she saw him "Peter" she said with a rough voice "it's me love" Peter picked her up he was about to brake in and save her he'd been concocting a plan for months now , since he was released "you'll be okay, I promise" then he carried her off into a car and stored her into the back seat with a towel and an ice pack "apply pressure" Peter told her then he stepped on the gas and drove off to the nearest hospital. As time was running out but even though Peter was blurry from tears he kept repeating "stay with me" or "you'll be okay, we just need to keep you responsive" Rapunzel laughed, she had released the fairy tale's out of there sleep and got to see her Peter one last time, life was just to kind. "I love you" she said in a rough voice from the fatigue and blood loss "I love you" Peter said back to her then she closed her eyes. Death is peaceful but life is hard.

Peter never cured Rapunzel of the sleeping syndrome as it turns out she was born with it, it was buried in her DNA and doctors remained puzzled and since in times of stress she goes into a deep sleep, the doctors stopped her wounds at the hospital. She freed everyone in the town of Storybook and they found a way home but Peter stayed waiting for Rapunzel to wake up. Once she does she will finally get her happily ever after despite her DNA of a sleeping beauty syndrome.
