It was still early in the morning and Mark was in his bedroom. He was thinking deeply while lying down on the bed and staring at the ceiling. The house was still quiet. The day hasn't started for him and Donghyuck to fight and disturb the neighbors.

Suddenly, he heard fast footsteps outside and assuming that it was Donghyuck. He shouldn't care but he heard noise in the bathroom. Mark immediately walked out of the room a d check if Donghyuck's fine. But he was surprised to see him vomiting in the toilet. The alpha knelt down and rubbed the beta's back.

"Hey, you alright?" Mark asked.

Donghyuck didn't reply and kept vomiting. Mark just continued to rub his back until he finished. He soon helped Donghyuck to stand up and wash himself on the sink. Mark flushed the toilet and leaves Donghyuck to get some water.

The alpha returned and gave the glass of water to the beta.

"You alright? You need something else?" Mark asked.

"I'm fine."

"You sure?"

Donghyuck looked at him, "Why do you care?"

Mark thought about that just now. He could've just leave Donghyuck alone and not mind his business. But here he is, asking if the beta's alright and giving him some water. The alpha looks straight into the beta's eyes.

"Because I just care."

Donghyuck's heart beats a bit faster like it always do whenever Mark's around. It's a pregnancy thing, that's all.

Mark stared into Donghyuck's eyes until his phone suddenly rang. Both of them looked away and Mark goes out of the bathroom to take the call. The beta was still in daze, finding out that the alpha does care even just a little bit. Everybody knew about the accidental pregnancy and they knew that Mark won't even take the part of being the father, which is true. But now, things are a bit different.

Donghyuck walked out of the bathroom with the glass on hand. He walked into the kitchen to get an orange on the fruit basket. He was about to peel the orange but Mark grabbed the fruit and peeled it for the beta.

"You good?" Mark asked as he handed the peeled orange to Donghyuck.

The beta nodded and grabbed the orange, "Why are you still here?"

Donghyuck was obviously not in the mood, he was gloomy. Mark noticed it. Since yesterday when he came home, Donghyuck cried and looked far from the Donghyuck he always fight back. He wanted to know what happened. The way Johnny told him yesterday looked really serious, but he was hesitating. Donghyuck was obviously shutting himself to Mark but he can't just hide everything, can he? It's his child on the line if something's wrong with Donghyuck.

"Hello? Earth to alpha?"

Mark looked back at him, "You really don't want me here, huh?"

Instead of hearing that like an insult from Donghyuck, the beta looked upset. Mark knew something's going on and it's not good. Donghyuck should've answered with a sassy comment or annoyed answer but none.

"Come on, tell me everything," Mark said, looking at Donghyuck seriously.

Donghyuck looked back at him, "What do you mean...everything?"

"What exactly happened in the clinic? Tell me."

"I don't know--"

"I'm not stupid, beta. Why do you have pills for your pregnancy? Johnny gave the paper from the doctor to me if ever you'll need to buy more," Mark uttered, "I know you hate me but I deserve to know what's going on with you. You're making me worried."

Donghyuck gulped and he didn't care as he suddenly hugged Mark. He buried his face on the alpha's chest and arms wrapped tightly around the waist. It surprised Mark. They never had any kind of skinship. Even if they brushed their arms against each other accidentally, they fight about doing it on purpose. But neither of them are bothered by a hug.

"I'm afraid...I'm afraid to lose our child. I know at first it seemed like I didn't want this, I kept the child because I wanted to. I knew you won't care if I told you that I'm stressing out without you being with me, I'm so anxious whenever you're away," Donghyuck sniffled, "The doctor told me if I keep stressing myself, I'll get a miscarriage and I don't want that to happen."

"Mark, I'm scared..."

It was the first time for Donghyuck to call Mark by his name. Mark's heart fluttered at hearing it. He could how sincere his feelings were. Donghyuck cried on Mark's chest while Mark hugged him back and rubbed his back.

"Shh, everything will be alright," Mark cooed. He never felt this way before for the beta. He hates him, he didn't ever feel anything special for Donghyuck--It doesn't mean he does right now. He just pity the beta.

"I crossed the line, I'm sorry."

Mark carried Donghyuck with the beta's legs around his waist and his hands on his thighs. He carried him to the couch. Mark let Donghyuck seat on his lap and cry on his shoulder. He kept rubbing his back to soothe.

"You should've told me yesterday," Mark said.

"How can I? You told me you didn't care and told that the pregnancy was a mistake!"

"I know what I said, but you could've try."

"Then nag at me at how careless I am? No thanks," Donghyuck said, pushing himself away from Mark's chest.

Mark chuckled, "That's what I hate about you. Your guts."

"Same here, alpha."

Mark looked at Donghyuck and down to where his tummy is. He was about to touch it but he looked at Donghyuck for permission. Donghyuck blushed for some reason before he let the alpha. Mark caressed the barely visible baby bump.

"You're gonna get fatter," Mark teased.

Donghyuck pouted, "That hurts."

Mark chuckled and looked at the tummy again, "I'm sorry, kiddo. Hang on tight there, okay? I'll make sure you'll survive until nine months."

"I'll stop fighting and shouting at you if you promise not to piss me off," Donghyuck said, making Mark to look at him.

Mark nodded, "Deal."

Maybe the baby will be the reason for their love story?
