"How is Donghyuck?" Taeyong asked.

Mark thought that it would be a great idea to talk to Taeyong about his plan on having a vacation, an out-of-town trip. He successfully forced Donghyuck to go out and accompany him to the village today. The beta's currently outside of the mansion, playing with Blue, while Mark is in the living room with Taeyong. Mark was so sure that Donghyuck can't resist Blue.

Looking outside of the window, Mark finally saw Donghyuck smiling again.

"It's good to see him like that again, huh?"

Mark nodded, his eyes still on Donghyuck carrying Blue who is playing as Superman, "Yeah. Three days felt like years to me. Seeing him so upset hurts me, to be honest."

"I understand him. I didn't know what I would do when I had my miscarriage. But Jaehyun didn't leave me, he still loved me," Taeyong chuckled at the memory, "He said we could always make another one...but the first is always different from the second, right?"

Love, huh?

"If he'll ever agree on having another one...but I doubt it," Mark uttered, returning his attention to Taeyong.

"Oh, so do you want one again?"

Mark looked at Taeyong with a flushed, surprised face. He immediately shook his head, "I-I mean if he wants to, then maybe...we can?"

Taeyong sighed, "Sometimes, I hate both of you for pretending and hiding from each other."

"What are you saying?"

"Stop playing pretend and start showing what you really feel for Donghyuck."

Mark sighed, "I'm not playing pretend."

"Then what?" Taeyong crossed his arms over his chest and furrowed his eyes at the alpha.

"I'm already showing him--"

"Showing him what, Mark Lee?"

Mark blushed and looked away with a frowned, "Nevermind."

And that made Taeyong smile from ear to ear. It was far from the Mark he used to know. Obviously, Taeyong just want to make Mark say it because why not? Isn't it cute? The more you hate, the more you love.

"That's it, bud. Nothing to be embarrassed about. It's normal," Taeyong laughed at Mark's annoyed expression, "I won't blame you, Donghyuck is easy to love."

Mark looked at Donghyuck, who was seating on the leafy ground with Blue on his lap. They were playing with their hands but Donghyuck suddenly look at the window, seeing Mark looking at him as well. The alpha immediately looked away and blushed.

The beta stared at him while he talk to Taeyong. He remembered what happened last night. He was selfish, it was selfish of him that he thought he was the only one who has their world shuttered into pieces. He didn't think that it'll hurt Mark if he leaves him alone.

After asking that question, Mark just gave him a kiss on the forehead and sends him to bed. The alpha didn't say or reply anything, but a smile. Donghyuck wanted to say sorry and tell him that it was his emotion speaking.

Suddenly, Donghyuck felt Blue's cheek against his. The baby was trying to look at of what Donghyuck was looking.

"I love uncle Mark too, uncle Hyuckie," Blue said.

Donghyuck furrowed his eyes. He pushed Blue softly and let him sat down on his lap again to look at him.

"What do you mean by too?"

"You love uncle Mark, right?"

The beta immediately blushed, "How...?"

"Your eyes said it all, uncle," Blue stood up and put his small hands against Donghyuck's chest, "And your heartbeat is fast."

Donghyuck looked away from Blue. He knows these too damn well, but he's just a kid. He doesn't have to know what love is. He reads too many fairytales. Disturbing his thought, Blue pinched both of his cheeks.

"Falling in love is beautiful, isn't it, uncle?"

The pair stayed at the village since Mark thought it would be nice if Donghyuck stays here for a while. It's nice to see him happy anyway. The alpha also needed to talk to Taeyong for the vacation at the beach and planned all morning. Jaehyun took care of the beach house they'll be renting and the place.

They were doing this behind Donghyuck's back so hopefully, he'll like this as a surprise.

In dinner, everyone at the table could feel the awkward tension between Mark and Donghyuck. They kept looking at each other but ending up looking away at the same time. Somehow, they look cute but now it's just plain annoying that they're blind. The vacation might help them.

Donghyuck just ate a small amount and people didn't stop him from going upstairs.

"I might let Donghyuck stay here for the night," Mark said.

"I should be cleaning the guest room now," Ten uttered.

"I won't be staying. I'll come back the next day for the vacation."

"You won't stay?" Taeyong asked, looking at Mark while spoon feeding Gray.

Mark shook his head before he excused himself. He stood up and followed Donghyuck upstairs. He may or may not know the beta's room but he found a closed door, the only closed door among eight doors. He held the knob and knocked on the door.

"It's Mark," the alpha twisted the knob and opened the door.

Donghyuck saw him walking in. He puts the book, he was reading for a while, down on the bed and felt the part of the mattress on his feet dipped. He looked at Mark, waiting for him to speak.

"We're going on a vacation the next day."

Donghyuck furrowed his eyebrows, "What?"

"The others will come so we won't be alone," Mark uttered, "So, you'll have to stay here for a while."

"But...why? You'll stay with me, right?" It sounded like a hopeful wish and Donghyuck looked a bit sad.

Mark caressed the beta's knee, "I'll stay at the house--"

"Then I don't want it here..." the beta looked like he was about to cry.

"Didn't you want it here? I'll come back with our things packed for the vacation."

"Are you that sick of me?"

Mark immediately panicked when Donghyuck started crying. Tears ran down the puffy cheeks and then hiccups started occurring. It was painful to watch Donghyuck crying, it hurts Mark more to realize that he has been crying for three straight days.

The alpha moved closer to the beta. He cupped the beta's cheeks and wiped the tears with his thumbs. Mark leaned to kiss Donghyuck's eyes and lastly, his forehead.

"I'll stay here until you fall asleep," Mark whispered sweetly.

Donghyuck didn't reply. Mark put the book on the sidetable and fixes Donghyuck on the bed. He covered him with the covers and slipped in as well. The alpha hugged the beta from behind while he kept crying. Soon, Donghyuck stopped and Mark left.
