"They already left," Mark started, trying to make a smooth conversation by telling him that the others already left.

Donghyuck just hummed while hugging his legs against his chest, his eyes still at the sky. Mark instantly lost all of his courage to speak if Donghyuck will only end the conversation with a hum or nod. He just sighed and looked up to see how beautiful the sky is. The cold breeze was gently sweeping their skin and hair, waves were close to their feet and the only light they have is the moon.

"My mother told me when I was a kid is whenever a person die and unexpectedly left someone on earth, they become a star to look out for that someone. I was really dumb that time and I was fond of that idea. When my mother died, I started looking up at the sky whenever I feel lonely," Donghyuck uttered with Mark listening, "Now, I thought...I have two stars looking down on me right now. I don't know if I should be happy about it but it's the only thing I'm holding on right now...Setting my mind with that belief, it makes me think that they're still here."

Donghyuck stared at the two stars twinkling beside each other as he told his story. He held back his emotions, not wanting to cry again. He felt tired.

He was exhausted.

Mark looked at him, pitying him at how he looked so beaten up. The world is too cruel for him.

"I don't want them to see me like this..." Donghyuck bit his lips and leaned his forehead on his knees.

Mark sat closer and wrapped his arm around Donghyuck's shoulders. He rubbed his side and kissed his head. His heart was beating fast. His mind was already telling him to say everything to Donghyuck. He doesn't know what will happen after this but he just hope everything will be better.

"Stop crying. I thought you didn't want them to see you like this?" Mark encouraged, trying to sound a bit livelier. He was trying to lighten the atmosphere.

"It's really hard. It really hurts me," the beta sniffled.

The alpha leaned his head on the beta's shoulder, "I know you've hated me but I'm always here. You've been bothering me since you came into my storyline but it makes me sane. I've seen your smile, heard your laugh and chuckle and showing your craziness to me...and that's the only thing I want you to do right now."

Donghyuck's heart was beating fast against his chest as he heard what Mark just said. He stayed silent and frozen on his seat.

"I-I'm not the best person to tell my feelings verbally. I-I couldn't put them into w-words but..." Mark stuttered. His heart wanted to explode with the excitement and nervousness. He cupped the beta's side with his hand to lift his head up and look at the alpha.

Everything went fast but Mark leaned in for a peck on Donghyuck's lips. Donghyuck froze and felt his cheeks heated up.

"I want to protect you, I want you to stay beside me, I want you a-all to me. I want you to hold on to me too. Do I have to be up there just for you--"

"No!" Donghyuck lifted his head and whipped his head to look at Mark, "I-I don't want to lose anyone a-again! You're the only one I have...a-and the others."

Mark smiled and pulled Donghyuck closer to him. His stomach felt like a zoo right now, he feels so happy. It was like a burden was lifted from his shoulders. They've known each other for over several years ago and didn't even think about having feelings for just months of being together.

"You look like you fell in love tonight," Donghyuck teased.

Mark buried his face on Donghyuck's neck, "Is that bad?"

"If it's me, then it's not."

The alpha chuckled. He wrapped his arms around the beta's slim waist and simply kissed his neck, making the beta shiver and blush.

"Only you."

Donghyuck wanted to beat Mark up right now because of how cringey his cheesy side. Regardless being too cringey, he felt a whole damn zoo and his heart was beating crazy for the alpha. He just hugged Mark tightly and his lips finally curving up into a satisfied smile.

Only in Mark's arm, he's finally home.

"I missed you," Mark cooed and kissed Donghyuck's cheek.

"I missed myself too."

Donghyuck pulled away from the hug and looked up at the sky again as he leaned his head onto Mark's shoulder, Mark did the same. Silence took over them as the night got deeper and colder. But Donghyuck has something in mind.

"Taeyong hyung asked me about starting again with you."

Mark hummed, "What did you say?"

"I'm not against it. It's up to you if you want us to start over."

"Why not?" Mark chuckled and Donghyuck's heart fluttered at the response, "Does that mean we could...have another one?"

The beta fell quiet again and it made the alpha worry.

"It's fine if you don't want to...I'm not pushing you."

Donghyuck looked at Mark. His eyes were full of hesitations and worry, "What if things like this happen again? What if that's our first and last chance to have a baby? What if we couldn't have another one? It just worries me to think that...I'm a beta and you're an alpha which technically, you should be with an omega--"

"What's wrong mating with a beta like you?"

Donghyuck looked away and fidgeted with his fingers, "It takes time, Mark. We just got lucky."

Mark just smiled, "Maybe we could get lucky at the second time. We could try and try, right?" he said as he wiggled both of his eyebrows.

"Pervert."
