Don't Have To
Ang amoy ng pawis, dugo at balat ang namumutawi sa bawat gapang ko sa sahig. Blood trickled on my knees when it felt a sharp rock scratched its surface. I stopped and hugged them tight to numb the pain but it didn't stop there. The pain was everywhere in this dark room with a tiny hinge of light during the day. And during darkness, all I could do is fall asleep and be devoured for another set of painful days.
