Betrayal

"I don't really know when they'll start working but I guess they will be here any minute now. Off limits, Claire. Okay?"

Napagdesisyonan naming pumunta sa dating 'tambayan' ko at ng mga lalakeng kaibigan. I've been avoiding them the whole week but I'm sure they're well. They have someone else already, why would I matter?

Funny how I've been their only Queen since Junior High School yet all can be easily ruined because of one pesky mermaid.

Claire played with her stilettos while sitting on the couch. She rolled her eyes because of my reminder.

"And please put on your stilettos."

Umirap ulit siya at inilayo ang sapatos niya. She walked towards me barefooted.

"We're in a place where only two of us can hangout. Why would I want to torture my feet?"

"Well, actually, this is not 'our' hangout place. This is for my guy friends."

"Yeah and what did they do? Choose a mermaid instead of a bitch. Shame on them." She smirked.

"Can you stop talking?"

"Sure, babe." She laughed.

I grimaced before pushing her face away from me.

"You reek of alcohol. I shouldn't have let the bartender give you a drink." I shook my head.

"You mean Bart?" I wrinkled my nose before nodding. "Funny how his occupation is complementing his name." She laughed.

Complementing? Really? Nice choice of word, Claire.

"Wait, damn it. Are they..."

Agad kong nasara ang pintuan at pinatay ang ilaw dahil sa gulat.

"Hide!" I screamed even though I don't think they'll come here.

Why would they go here, right? This is our hangout place! Kahit isa sa mga tinataguan ko ngayon ay walang karapatan sa lugar na ito kaya bakit natataranta ako?

I immediately grabbed Claire's hand because she's too hard headed to even move. Ako na rin ang kumuha ng stilettos niya at agad ko siyang ipinasok sa closet ko roon. What? I can't have a closet in my hangout place? I love changing clothes!

"What the hell are we doing, Aphro?!"

"Shh!"

"Seriously! I'm not the type who likes closet destruction! If you know what I mean." Nagngising aso siya at iginalaw niya ang kanyang mga kilay.

"Eew, please."

She snorted. Agad kong tinakpan ang bibig niya nang marinig ang paggalaw ng knob. My eyes were wide, my voice nowhere to be found and my body dried up as if realization hit me straight to the heart. Believe me when I say my heart stopped beating and tiny voices overcame my mind.

"Sigurado ka bang pwede kang magpahinga rito?" Zeus voice filled the quiet and peaceful room.

"Uh-huh. Binigyan pa ako ng spare key ng mga kaibigan ko. Dito kasi kami tumatambay. Ang weird nga dahil amoy babae, usually kasi ay amoy ng pabango ng mga kaibigan kong lalake ang naaamoy rito." Serena laughed.

Usually? So she's been here? And worse, she had been here over and over again? Worst, she has a spare key? And what did she just tell Zeus? Her guy friends? The last time I checked, they were mine. My guy friends and this place. Mine.

"Naiwan siguro ni Xyl na nakabukas. Ang alam ko ay siya ang mahilig sa pagpunta rito. Alam mo na, maraming sexy." Her feminine voice irritated my ears.
