I was exhausted when I went back to our home. The lights in our living room was the only light open. I thought my parents already slept but when I saw my Mother sleeping soundly on my Father's shoulder in the living room, I suddenly felt guilty.

I kissed my Daddy's cheeks and the sound of the kiss made my Mommy conscious. Nagmulat agad siya at alam na niyang nandito na ako. I smiled and kissed her cheeks too.

"Hey, Mommy. Sorry I'm late..."

"No, no! It's okay. We were actually watching netflix." She smiled but I know she was lying. She just want me not feeling guilty.

"Where will we celebrate New Year's Eve, Mommy? I'm dying to check on my grand parents! I so miss the money they give everytime I go to their place." I laughed to lighten up the mood.

"We might be celebrating at MDC Entertainment, Venice."

I almost rolled my eyes at my own name. Mommy really thinks Venice fit me? For pete's sake it looks like Ve-nice when I can't even find a nice bone in my body. I guess it was left in her? That's why she became sweet?

The next boring day, I called Tita Cleo to ask about the calendarya.

"Tita Cleo, I told you it's calendarya. I just forgot how it is pronounced but I'm sure as hell we ate at a calendarya!"

"Oh my gosh, Aphro. You're giving me a headache. I don't remember eating a place full of calendars?"

"Calendarya, Tita! Not kalendaryo! Ugh, I ate buttered chicken there right? And I asked about the eggsilog? Or was it tapsilog?"

"Ah!" She then laughed. "Sa Carinderia?"

I wrinkled my nose and my face heated. I thought it was calendarya? I should have listened attentively to what the guy told me! Wait, what's his name again?

"That was what I am talking about."

"No, you said calendarya. I really thought you were talking about a place full of calendars."

"Oh, shut up, Tita Cleo."

"My gosh, what did Vivienne teach you?" She tried to sound disappointed. "I like it." Bawi nito bago tumawa.

She's crazy!

"I'm going back there because uh... I left my purse."

"What? Eh kung naiwan mo na iyon roon, paniguradong wala na iyon!"

Shit, why didn't I think of a btter excuse? I bit my lip harder so that new ideas would rush to my head. I could say that I lost my phone or something.

I then face palmed. Who am I kidding? I'm using my phone right now! And if I make another excuse, it would look like I really just want to go there.

"Pwede naman tigna, hindi ba Tita? They probably took it so that once I come back for it, they still have it. And uhm... if it isn't there then I guess I'll have to settle for the apple shake?"

I heard her inhaled a sharp breath.

"Oh, I know what you're doing! Tell me, do you like the guy?"
