Desperate

But again, the plan didn't work out as planned. While I was holding a cup of coffee inside the air conditioned room, I got a glimpse of Serena and Zeus walking out of the resort.

I seriously don't know how I managed to spend a lot of time with Claire without being brought to the hospital. The past hours were even blurry and I just saw myself inside the Café overlooking the entrance of our resort.

I gripped on the coffee's container hard when I saw Zeus' worried look as she looked at Serena's sad face. They were muttering and exchanging words and I exactly know what it is about but it just made me angrier.

Why the hell are you worried, Zeus? When did you met her? This is probably just your second meeting with her and now you two are both acting like a love sick couple? And gosh, I am surely not jealous! Naiinis lang ako dahil may nag-aalala para sakanya! Why the hell would I be jealous?

"Careful with the coffee. I paid for that." Claire said.

I rolled my eyes at her before releasing my grasp. Tumingin ulit ako at nakita si Serena na tila nag-aalala ngunit tila mas maayos na.

"Do you know how to read their lips?"

"Whose lips? Zeus'? I've been reading his lips since they went out." She smirked.

Pinanlakihan ko siya ng mata.

"You've been staring at his lips?"

"Chill, Aphro. But seriously, I know what they're talking about. The café's not that far and my eyes are still working perfectly."

"Tell me what his last words will be. Thanks." Sabi ko bago uminom sa kape at tumingin ulit sakanila.

I was staring at them the whole time until they decided to ride a cab. I smiled when my hunch was right, Zeus got the last word. I faced Claire.

"Well?"

She looked pale when she looked back at me.

"I think we made a bad decision." She said.

Natigil ako sa muling pag-iinom sana sa kape at agad napatitig sakanya. I was intrigued because of her pale face.

"And that is?"

"Zeus just offered her his house."

Nanatili akong nakatitig kay Claire, pinopriseso ang sinabi niya. Wait. Zeus? Offered Serena a place to stay? That's stupid!

"You probably need to use glasses already." I laughed.

"I'm serious." She said.

Tumingin ako sakanya at tinignan kung nagsisinungaling ba siya. When I couldn't take it anymore, I stood up, banging my fist against the table.

"Then let's fucking go and see!"

And so we did. The first cab they hailed didn't accept them. I was so glad that this place is not secluded even though it's near a resort. They didn't notice us as we waited for a cab to accept them. Prente namang naka-upo si Claire sa sasakyan namin.

"I want a drink." She said.

"Beer? Liquor? What?"

"Rum please."

"Press the fourth button right in front of you." I said without taking my eyes off Zeus.

I heard Claire gasped as if shocked because of what she saw. Umirap naman ako at hindi siya tinignan.

"I love your car!"

I gave her a glimpse and saw her drinking a rum. Hindi pa niya sinasara ang compartment ng mga rum sa loob ng kotse kaya sinara ko na iyon agad at ibinalik ang tingin kanila Zeus. They were still there.
