"What is the heiress doing here?"
My heart blackened at the sound of his voice. Wren Vale Inquierdo never fails to scare people.
"What's your connection with Serena?"
"Still the direct to the point woman." He chuckled darkly.
"Answer me." Diniinan ko ang pagkakabigkas.
He stood up from his so-called throne and walked around me. His eyes glanced at my every move that I felt as if I can't even breathe to stay flawless and unmoving.
"Feisty. I like it."
"I don't have time to play games with you, Inquierdo."
He stopped right in front of me, his smirk never coming off his face.
"Come again?" He mocked.
"What is your connection with Serena?" I repeated.
The harsh wind blew my hair as I stared at the big waves crashing on the shore. He told me that we'll talk it out outside which was preferable than hearing the loud cries of girls and smelling the dark and raw scent of the air lingering around the four cornered room's walls.
"Why are you doing this?" I asked in disbelief when the cries of the young girls didn't leave my head.
I pity them for letting theirselves be caught off guard. I can't save them. It will cause a bigger problem and more importantly, a greater rivalry between the clans.
Some underground businesses give benefits while others benefit from the world. I don't want to ruin the good ones. Kahit wala pa kaming hawak sakanila dahil wala silang pinapanigan kundi ang batas, hindi pa rin ako gagawa ng ikasisira nila. It will not just ruin them, it will ruin the world. The world will turn dark and ruthless once they run out of business.
"Business." He stoically said, gone was his smirk that was always plastered in his annoying face.
"I really can't believe this. Your family is rich enough to build an empire far from manipulating people. Your family can stop."
"Ahh, now we're talking about my business, princess?" He laughed. "What do you want, Miss Calliego?"
His stone cold stare made me shiver with fear. I unconsciously took a step back which made his smirk grow wider. I looked away and breathed in before facing him again, my composure rebuilt.
"Serena's scholarship."
His lips twitched to hide an amused smile. My fear ignited as I look at his expression. It's as if he knew this day would come, I just don't know how and why.
"You're already a billionaire, princess. What's with her scholarship?" He taunted me.
My nostrils flared. I wasn't angry, I was ashamed and I want to hide it using anger.
"I want Serena out of my life. Remove her scholarship."
"And you thought I was the merciless being between us."
Umiwas ako ng tingin nang mapagtanto ang ibig niyang sabihin. Ngumisi siya habang tinitignan ang ekspresyon ko na ngayon ay hindi ko na malaman kung ano ba talaga. Am I ashamed? Is my pride hurt? Or my ego? I don't know. I just want her out of my life.
"We're done here. Remove her scholarship."
"Is that all?"
My mouth almost gaped open. That's all? Then good! No complaints, no trouble!
