End of the Act

The leaves rustled when it came contact with our shoes. The coldness of the night wind touched me as its harsh impact on my skin made it even more colder. The only thing keeping me warm is Zeus' hand on mine.

The tall trees with healthy green leaves watched as we hurriedly rush to the cars. Sweating and tired, I stopped to catch my breath. Natigil rin si Zeus at agad na hinintay na makuha ko ang tamang paghinga bago sana magpatuloy.

Natigil ako sa paglanghap ng hangin nang may marinig akong tila patagong kaluskos. Nagkatinginan kami ni Zeus dahil roon, alam na hindi galing sa aming dalawa ang kaluskos na iyon.

I tried thinking positively but failed. I paled when I saw the mocking eyes of Wren while his hand is playing a gun. His handcuff is gone.

I stepped back, creating a crispy noise because of the fallen leaves. Hindi nakatulong ang lamig ng gabi at ang nangungutyang buwan na nakatingin lang sa mga pangyayari na tila nanonood ng palabas.

Wren's mocking laugh ended my trance.

"Both of you are stupid, huh? That's what you two are. Trouble. Not love. Damn it." He laughed once again, "Love is fiction. It only exists in fairytales and in movies. You two are too stupid to even realize that!"

"We are not stupid. Are you that bitter, huh? Your parents love each other!"

"Only because they are equals! They probably are together just because they need the alliance! Love can't fool me like it fooled the two of you." He said with finality before he positioned his gun.

"The only thing you know is to kill and destroy! Love probably gave up on you!"

My statement seemed to trigger him. Humarap ulit siya sa akin at humalakhak. Zeus tried to pull me and place me on his back but I didn't budge.

"Right. If that's what it is then I'll do something I do best." He then positioned himself, "Ruin and destroy."

"Inquierdo!" Zeus warned.

"Run." Wren

Zeus cursed before he pulled me to run. Nalilito man ay nagpahila ako sakanya. Kita ko ang pagod ni Zeus dahil na rin sa mga dinanas niya bago pa ako dumating. He was struggling to run that's why when I looked back and saw Wren smirking while chasing us with his gun, everything dawned at me.

I saw my father trailing the oblivious Wren. I felt relieved. Until Wren pointed the gun and pulled the trigger.

With eyes widening, quick flashbacks replayed in my mind. The sweet innocent Zeus, Anastasia, what happened to Anastasia... No. I don't want the same thing to happen to him.

Quickly, I covered his body from the bullet. I fell on the ground when the bullet pierced through my flesh. I, then, felt what the leaves felt while falling to the ground.

Narinig ko ang malakas na pagbagsak ko at ang pagtigil ng buong mundo. Another horrible sound came out from a gun nearby before everything went black.

I opened my eyes after a long period of silence. This is it. The day I've been waiting for. The day I can finally see Zeus. I grasped the beautiful flowers in my hands.

The day I woke up on a hospital bed, my Mother greeted me with her happy and hopeful eyes. She asked me about how I feel and what do I want but I only uttered Zeus' name. Still with my groggy voice, I cried for his name.

"Where is he, Mama?!" I freaked out, remembering the last bullet I heard before I lost control of my own body.

Mama didn't answer while looking at me. I freaked out more because of that. I remember exactly why I protected him from the bullet. It's because his body would probably shut down if the bullet touched him! Pero sa ikalawang pagputok-hindi. Hindi pwedeng mawala siya.
