Later that night, after a whole day packed with sightseeing and spending time with my favorite people, we all gathered in the hotel lobby waiting for departure to the show at Omnia. Both Martijn and Julian were very focused, all prepared for their sets. We were brought to the venue in a small bus, entering this huge hotel from one of the backstage entries. A whole crowd of production assistants as well as a few security guards ushered us through what seemed like endless backstage hallways towards the artist dressing rooms. Gabe and his crew made their way towards the front of house area and started to prepare everything for the show while the club was quickly filling up with people. Meanwhile, Anna and I spent the time backstage with Martijn, Julian and the rest of the team, joking around. Soon, it was time for Julian to go out and open up the show for Martijn. Anna went out together with him to watch his show from besides the DJ booth, leaving Martijn and me behind. I could see in her eyes how proud she was watching Julian do his show. Me, I was also so proud of Martijn. Martijn made me sit on his lap while he was working on some last minute changes to his set, continuously asking for my opinion in the process. "You know that I am so proud of you?", I asked when I got the chance and placed a kiss on his lips. Martijn kissed me back and said: "I know. And I love you lots for that, baby. It means the world that you are here with me again. We should do that so much more often!" "I'd love that.", I answered. After a little while longer, it was time for Martijn to go and prepare for his gig. We both got up from the couch in the dressing room and walked towards the stage hand in hand. As Julian was playing the last tracks of his set, Martijn took off his hoody. I let my head rest on his shoulder and quietly asked: "Can I wear your hoody while you're out there performing?" "Sure, love.", Martijn smiled and handed me his hoody, "You look so pretty in it." Then he placed a little kiss on my forehead. Suddenly, Watse interrupted us and said: "Hey, Martijn! Two more minutes for you!" "Alright!", Martijn answered and turned around to me again: "Okay baby, I gotta go now. Enjoy the show, okay? I'll give my very best for you tonight!" "Good luck. I love you!", I smiled back at him. Then he hurried to the stage where his intro started to play and at the same time Julian came back from his set, giving him a brotherly hug and then heading over towards Anna and me. "Hey girls!", he said and Anna came forward immediately to get a hug from him. They both soon left for the dressing room again, leaving me next to the stage. I, once more, was in total awe watching Martijn perform. He was so full of positive energy, jumping and screaming lyrics together with the crowd. They were all celebrating together, accompanied by the tunes of his music. Sometimes, Martijn's eyes would come to find me as if he was checking in on how I was enjoying the show he put on. It just felt so good seeing him completely enjoying what he was doing. It's a weird feeling, you're not doing anything yourself, but you just couldn't possibly feel more proud and happy seeing him succeed. Martijn really knew how to work his crowd. Whenever you would feel the energy go down a little, he'd always have the right high energy song in store for them to start dancing again. I always wondered how he could possibly do it all to such an extent. He must have had such an incredibly insight into human nature, because he definitely knew how to make them experience certain emotions, how to influence their level of energy and how to make them give their all as well. After a few more tracks, Anna and Julian rejoined me in watching the set. I hugged them both and said to Julian: "Hey Julian, well done! Your set was great!" "Thanks, Line.", he smiled and grabbed Anna's hand again. The three of us enjoyed Martijn's set together as Louis also came by and took a few photos of us. Anna snuggled up in Julian's arms and I shot her a meaningful glance. Her eyes were saying "I knooow!", but I just couldn't help it, they were just too cute together. I then turned my attention back to Martijn, who was just playing one of my favorite tracks, a high energy remix of his song "Scared to be lonely". Towards the chorus, he climbed on the DJ booth and the crowd was going crazy for him. He had done this a couple of times throughout his set already and it always brought an incredible excitement to the crowd. Everyone had their phones in the air capturing the moment, as he was jumping back down from the booth to start mixing the next song. But this time, everything was different. Martijn jumped and instead of landing on his feet keeping up the energy he had built with the crowd, he wasn't getting up this time. He laid on the floor, holding on tightly to his ankle, while the music continued playing.
