Martijn and I took off our shoes and walked through the warm sand barefoot. I grabbed his hand and simply enjoyed the moment for a while. We were just leaving our footprints behind, a little breeze of the sea was playing with my hair and the sun slowly painted the sky in a beautiful mixture of orange and red. I looked over to Martijn, he was looking extremely handsome. He was wearing an olive bomber jacket with a black shirt and a grey pair of jeans. His skin was slightly tanned and his brown hair almost seemed to have a golden touch in the evening sun. "Tijn?", I asked. "What's up beautiful?", he wanted to know. "You remember this incident with Toby last week?", I carefully began, "I still owe you a reply from that night." "You do?", he asked, somehow confused, "What's that all about?" Well... how should I say this, I was just trying to ask him to be my boyfriend. "Well. You remember how I said Toby scared me? You're the complete opposite of him. My heart skips a beat when I see you or even when I just hear your voice. I really care for you, Martijn.", I explained. "Aww that was sweet.", he chuckled. He was still not getting it. "Tijn, you don't get it, right?", I asked, "You said you were ready to let me into your life. I am, too. I... I would love to be your girl." "Awwwww Line.", Martijn blushed, "I... I would be honored." I stopped walking and Martijn pulled me in close. He let his hand run through my hair and his blue eyes were sparkling with happiness. "I still can't believe this.", he whispered into my ear, "You're really mine? I... am just speechless." I gave him a big smile and said: "I can't believe this either. I get to call the world famous DJ Martin Garrix my boyfriend from now on. Life is crazy, isn't it?" He didn't give me any reply, instead he pulled me into a looong kiss. After the kiss, he held me in his arms saying: "Is this really true? Do you really want to be my girlfriend or am I just dreaming?" "I really want to. I'm for real!", I replied and let him hug me again. He then got out his phone and said: "Can we please capture this? I want to remember this magic moment for as long as I can." I nodded and Martijn snapped a few selfies of us with the sea in the background, as well as the reddish sunset sky. On one of them, I gave him a peck on the cheek, on a few others we made some funny faces. "Can I post one of these?", Martijn asked me, "I don't want you to feel intimidated or something like that. Also, there might be some dickheads commenting stuff which isn't too friendly." "For sure you can. As long as you're by my side, I am not afraid of those guys. But what about your management?", I asked. "Oh, Watse should be fine with that. And the others don't have anything to say when it comes to my socials haha. So you're okay with it?", he explained. "Yes I am. You're funny, dude.", I laughed.

@martingarrix: Amazing evening by the beach in Leiden with this beauty @line.hoelgaard ♥♥♥ #keeper

When he showed me his post, his kind words made me smile. "And now we're not gonna check it for a while, alright? I am kinda nervous, I have to admit, how they all will react. Not because of me and my image, but I do not want them to talk bad about you, you know?", he suggested. "You're sweet, Tijn.", I smiled and gave him a little kiss, "But I don't want them to talk bad about you either." We spent the rest of the night on the beach, just enjoying ourselves and sharing thoughts, opinions and mindsets. Martijn and I were so alike, it was almost scary. I had really found a soulmate in him. On the way back home in the car, Martijn checked his Instagram for the first time after he had posted the picture of the both of us. He read a few of the comments to me, most of them asking whether I was his girlfriend and saying how well we suited each other. He seemed to be relieved, also while reading a few comments by his fellow DJs and producers. Anna and Julian both also commented some sweet words, wishing us good luck. There were hate comments as well, but Martijn, as polite as he was, refused to read them to me. I had to read them for myself when we got back to my dad's house and were cuddling on the couch in my bedroom. Few of the fans were insulting me, wishing they were in my place, and a few of these horrible celebrity news pages were headlining: "The DJ's girl: How can an everyday girl score a relationship with Martin Garrix" or "Doesn't he deserve better? Garrix dating an unknown girl from the streets" . When Martijn spotted me reading the articles, he snuck away my phone and said: "Don't you read that. Focus on the positive. I swear, otherwise you get crazy." "Heyyy, give back my phone.", I laughed. Martijn sled the phone into his pocket and started to tickle me. "Hahaha no I won't. Never.", he said. I jumped up to flee from his tickles and Martijn ran after me. His strong arms caught me and pressed me against the wall. I was always impressed, how he, despite his height, could be so strong. Had it been Toby, I would've probably been afraid in the same situation, but Martijn made me feel safe and secure. His arms held me and his warm lips touched mine. We kissed, his tongue dancing for dominance with mine.
