Martijn followed me into the big penthouse room and together we admired the beautiful view from the balcony. "That is so beautiful Tijn! But how can you spend so much money just on that trip? I mean...", I said. "Don't worry, beautiful.", he replied with a smile and gave me a hug, "It's fine. You will see! Actually, wait... Close your eyes, I have another surprise for you!" I did as he told me and closed my eyes. I heard him fumble with his suitcase and then he said: "Turn around and open your eyes!" I turned around and saw him standing there, the most beautiful smile on his face and an expensive looking garment bag in his hand. "Martijn, what is this?", I asked, speechless. "Open it for me, please.", he smiled and handed me the bag. I opened it and held an absolutely stunning black gown in my hands, covered with a beautiful floral lace. "That is for you.", Martijn whispered and hugged me from behind, "Do you like it?" I was absolutely speechless. "It is stunning. But... I can't accept that. That must've been wayyyyy too expensive and also... I mean I'm just a college girl, I have nowhere to wear a dress as beautiful as this one to. Martijn... You're wonderful but...You do not have to do this for me.", I said. He just gave me a smile and said: "Oh, I happen to know the perfect occasion to wear it, baby!" "But what should that be?", I asked him. "Well... Tonight, the MTV EMA's are on. And guess what, Team Garrix is nominated for two different awards. Plus, they want me to play a set during the show, sooo... That means I am taking you to the Gala tonight. The EMA's are taking place here in Bilbao, that's why we're here!" "Oh my gosh, is that really true?", I asked. He nodded proudly and said: "I couldn't resist bringing you with me for this. I want you by my side tonight. And I would love for you to wear the dress to the Gala. My mom actually helped me to pick it out for you. I hope... Like... Are you okay with all of this? Please say yes." "Does that actually mean you want us... like you and me... Do you want us to be official to the public as well?", I asked. "Yes, I'd like that. Only if you are okay with it though. But I have nothing to hide, you're my girl and I want everyone to know that and to see how damn beautiful you are, baby.", he said with a smirk. I gave him a hug and said: "You're so sweet, Tijn. Thank you so much for all of this. I really couldn't wish for a better man by my side." "So you're okay with it?", he asked me back. I nodded and smiled: "Yes, yes I am." Martijn pulled me into a long kiss and said afterwards: "That's amazing. I can't wait to show my girl to the world." After we spent some time lying next to each other on the big comfortable bed, we got up to grab a bite to eat together with the team. Then we headed over to the venue for Martijn's sound-check for the set later that night. I was still in awe about everything that was going on, I mean I was just an average college girl and now I was in the middle of Martijn's crazy sparkling world of action. When he hopped down from stage after the sound-check, he smiled: "How did you like it? I saw you smiling down there." "You did so good up there.", I replied with a smile as well, "You're gonna be the best tonight, I swear." "Thank you, beautiful.", he said and bowed, "Much appreciated. So let's go get ready for the red carpet now, shall we?" I nodded in agreement and followed him and his team back to the cars.
