Gotta spend this day at my very own pace. Rainy morning. Hot chocolate. Messy Hair. Sweater weather. Definitely my one of a kind celebration.

Since I asked for an off today I got to enjoy my bed a little longer than the usual.

Aside from the fact that my phone keeps on ringing.

'Yujin text message'

"Ehem is our birthday girl awake?"
"Yohoo anybody there?"
"I see. You're enjoying your day too much"
"Anyway..."
"Just dropping by to say your table is a mess right now"

[Sent a photo.]

"Just sharing..."

"Yujin!!!"
"Omg what is that??"

"Uhm girl obviously gifts??"

"Loka! I know but from whom??"

"Of course not everything is from him"

I tried to put myself back to sleep.

"Aren't you supposed to be sleeping?"

"Any plans after your work?"
"Hmm. It's my off today I'd rather sleep the whole day though."

I tried to be blind about everything because when I am with him he made sure to build our own bubbles. Bubbles that possibly pop anytime. Anywhere.

I should be sleeping right now instead of throwing my clothes here and there. This man is seriously making me crazy. This will not do. I need help.

'Calling Yujin...'

"Yujin"

"Let's go shopping? I'll treat you."
"Suddenly?"

Yujin insisted to meet at 4pm so she can dress me up. And seriously I'm already tired it is already 6 in the evening and yet she still can't decide I have been trying clothes for God knows how many times already. And...

"That's it. We are going to take this. Then this one."

"And a little more glam up will do."

Just exactly on time when I arrived at the resto.

It looks like nobody's here. It isn't even open?

I was about to text him when the front door opens and reveals the man I was looking for.

He hug me tight as soon as he saw me.

"Ahm it looks like there is nobody here."

Obviously avoiding the topic.

"I want this day to be more special for you."
"You already did. You don't have to..."
"I have to because you deserve this."

The night is too perfect. The view. This man. This day. I cannot ask for more.

"Can I?"
"I don't know how to dance though."

I don't know how more romantic this day can go.

"Ellie? Why are you so beautiful today? You make it harder for me to let you go tonight."

I was about to broke the hug when he hug me tighter this time.

"I really miss you. Do you miss me too?"

I just nod. I'd rather listen to him at times like this.

"I'm now at home. I feel I'm home when I am with you."

"I just don't want this day to end."

His voice starting to break.

"I should be the one doing those dramas right?"

Just to lighten up his mood.

"Listen. This day will end as much as we don't want to but always remember I will always be cheering you from afar."

"Ellie. I love you. You know that right? How much I do. I really do."

"I know."

The sadness overflows tonight. I can feel there is something wrong he just try to hide it with his smiles, kisses, and hugs.

"Oppa is there something wrong?"

I can't hold myself anymore.

"Nothing."

Before we head back home he asked me to stay first at the playground nearby my place.

"Ya! What if someone will recognize you?"
"I don't care."
"Ya!"
"Come here."

He asked me to sit on the swing.

"Do you remember how we met?"
"Hmm~"
"It has been so long right?"

There was a long silence. He kneeled down and face me.

"Are you happy?"
"Yes. Aren't you?"
"You make me the happiest."

"Ellie did I even make you genuinely happy?"
"Of course."

"I'm afraid I can't make it."
"Ha?"

"Ellie listen to me."

His tears starting to fall. Things started to sink in.

"You know how much I love you right?"
"Oppa..."
"Shh... I wanted to be selfish just for this time. I want you to stay. I want them to know how lucky I am. But..."

"I know you can't"

And this is where my tears started to fall. I knew where this is going.

"Ellie you deserve the best. I know. But I can't be that man now. I don't care about myself anymore I'm more worried about you. I love you but I don't know how to protect you in my world, in this world. Selfish to say I want you to stay but I don't want you to get hurt. That is the last thing I wish would never happen.

But can I ask you to promise me one thing."

No.

"I promise you that I will come back to you as the man you deserve. You really deserve. Someone who can turn his back and leave everything behind just to be with you. Till then can you please wait for me."

I smiled. A bitter one.

"Aren't you too selfish? You want to have everything at the same time, yet you are very much aware that you cant. This. You. Me. Us. This fucked up situation we are in. We both know it is bound to end anyway.

You made me believe what I wasn't supposed to and I hate you for that yet I love you for the same reason."

As I wiped my tears away.

"Thank you for this day. I do enjoy a little slap of reality."

"Ellie!"

"Maybe I love you so much that it hurts. It's getting late already you must go home."

"Ellie I love you."

I head towards my place without looking back at him.

"Areum!! Tell me...
