Maya's P.O.V.
I smiled as I walked through Alejandro's house seeing the million people partying. As much as I'd love to be booed up somewhere, I have no one to be booed up with.
Therefore, I'm finna show my ass.
The trap music was blasting and I fixed my jacket as I continued my walk to the kitchen to find something to eat on.
Once I got to the kitchen I looked around at the different chips and dip that were neatly laid out.
"Thought I'd find you in here." A soothing voice said, I looked up and it was Dinah smiling from ear to ear.
"Well I am a bit hungry. Surprised you actually came."
"Why you say that?"
I leaned back on the counter folding my arms. "It's pretty hard to lose a girl like you in this crowd."
She laughed, biting her lip. "You suck at this flirting thing."
"Oh, you haven't seen me flirt yet." I grinned. "But everything cool from earlier? Homie in that car didn't look too happy to be on the block."
"Yeah that," she rolled her eyes, "that was my brother. He's not really famous around the Heights."
"Brother?" I said surprised.
"Yeah." She chuckled, side-eyeing. "Did you think that was my boyfriend?"
"I mean," I shrugged laughing, "homie is a bit darker than you not gone lie."
We laughed as she grabbed a beer out of the cooler by the fridge. "He's technically my half-brother but blood couldn't make us any closer."
"I heard that," I replied as she took a swig of her beer.
"But I find it funny you thought he was my boyfriend."
"How come?"
"I'm not entirely into men." I chuckled, nodding my head at her statement.
"Word?"
"Mhm. So just in case you see me with one of these guys, just remember I'm not cuffed. Not just yet."
"I'll note that." Dinah downed her beer before tossing it in the trash.
"So I'm going to go find a guy who may possibly have my phone, save me a dance?" She asked giving me a stare that was unbreakable.
"I'll see what I can do."
"You're such an asshole." Dinah giggled before walking away, leaving me even hungrier than I was before.
"Ayo, ya really gotta up ya game." Alejandro asked, approaching me.
I could tell he was trying to be funny but his facial expression made it obvious he didn't approve of me and Dinah's interaction.
"You always eavesdrop on people's conversation?"
"In this house? Yes."
I laughed, dapping him up as he sipped an unknown substance from his red cup.
"Man this house is big. You doing good for yaself, no bullshit."
"'Preciate it. Took a while for me to build this empire. I just have to keep the legacy going."
"What legacy?"
"The Garcia's and Casiano legacy son. The hustlers and bosses of our childhood. I can only aspire to be as great as them."
I looked down as I thought about pressing the issue. I might finally get some answers, I just didn't want to get in too deep to where he thinks I'm suspect.
