Maya's P.O.V.
December
Tuesday NightI kissed her lips as she played with my braids, twirling them around her fingertips.
"You know I hate you right?"
"Mm - do you really?"
"Yes," she pecked my lips, "I really hate you."
I bit my tongue as she looked into my eyes giving me a smile I couldn't resist.
"You're so beautiful."
"Mm, how beautiful?" Dinah asked while moving her leg up and down my thigh.
"Beautiful enough to pass me the gummy worms you've been hiding from me."
She smacked her teeth and passed me the bag from her purse as I kissed her forehead. "Thank you princess."
"Whatever. Shouldn't you be out shopping?"
"Shopping for what?"
"Your winter formal is this Friday, aren't you going?"
I shook my head and bit into some mangled-up gummy's. "Nah, that's not my style."
"Baby come on you've gotta go. You only have one winter formal."
"So? Why would I want to go to that when I could be here rocking your world." I palmed her ass with my vacant hand as she put a hand on my chest.
"Stop it Maya, you're going."
"No, I'm not. I don't wanna go anyways, I want to be here with you."
"We're together every day when you get out of school baby, you keep trying to make excuses but it's not going to work this time."
Throwing my head back in frustration, she moved onto my lap and wrapped her arms around my neck.
"Promise you'll go and have a fun time?"
I sighed. "I'll go, but you have to be my date." She groaned.
"Deal." She held out her pinky as I sighed, interlocking mines with hers sealing it with a kiss.
"There, happy?"
Dinah held my chin as her other manicured hand interlocked with mine. "Not yet. You wanna rock my world before your mom gets home?"
My hands snaked under her shirt, rubbing her lower back in circular motions. "My schedule's free so I guess I could."
Our lips connected as I laid her down, getting on top as she began to bite my bottom lip in pleasure.
Dinah finally moved in with her family here, but you wouldn't know the difference seeing as she's always over here. After our altercation we talked and worked things out, later on, we became a couple.
It's weird how we connect and understand each other's quirks because it's simple and we know each other well enough to be together.
As for Kayla - she's gone for good. Police did a quick investigation and ruled the murder a gang-affiliated case, closing the files on it soon after.
Although the thoughts of my actions haunt me sometimes, I sleep better knowing that my mother's shooter had gotten her fair of justice. My mama was okay and recovered well, now she works down at the local senior citizen facility.
No one knows what I did except for me and God, if I told anybody what happened, I could be in some deep shit.
That's why I try and stay as low-key as possible and stay indoors if need be. Since I stay inside a lot, Dinah is always over here keeping me busy and occupied.
