Hanz' POV
The last member of the final team is about to be announced.
"He is no other than... Mark Hemilton from Team C!"
I let out a deep sigh. Well, this is just my first year, why would I expect to be included in the final team?
The thing is, none of us in our team was called and able to make it. Frankly speaking, if you would look at our team, Team A. There are many members who are qualified and eligible to join the final team who would represent our school. Even us ourselves knew that, we poured our blood and tears in every training and competitions.
I said in my mind, bewildered as I turned and looked at each one of us. I saw Zian with a forced smile, wearing an unlikely laugh making it obvious if you look right on his doleful face and oppressed eyes, that he will start over again from the beginning and pierced to this school, training for the another whole year.
I went close to Zian and put my arms across his shoulder
"Come on man! Maybe you still don't have that enough skills to go through, there's always next time and next year. Do better next time huh."
I said to him and nudged his arm with my elbow, giving him a smirk.
If you aren't the coaches' pick and pet, no matter how good you are and even if you can reach the requirements for the final team, to them, you are just a specks of dust beneath their fingernails. Screw those coaches and their favoritism, making an athlete lose his opportunity.
Those bastards treat other trainees as pests. I'll admit that I expected to be included in the team and I'm pissed right now. Aren't we all? Cause we all know what we are capable of, and I am capable of being a part of that team. I should be there, our team are more qualified than those pets.
"Annoyed? I know right, sad but let's just try out again next year, bro. You did your best." Joseph said with a light smile as he gently turned my hair into a mess and headed towards the training field's exit.
"Another year in the school's field with shitty coaches, I guess" I let out and followed the trainees way out.
