Forever and Always: Book 1 Of Always

Gilderoy Lockhart

      Believe you me I am still giving my brother crap for the flying car accident.
       In Potions yesterday, Harry said he couldn't find the potion's ingredients so I sarcastically remarked, "Oh, I know how to get it. You can fly a car."
      It's been four days and I'm not ever letting him live it down.
      Luckily, today wasn't for shaming Harry on his idiocy. Today was for something much more important.
Today was the day that I got to have defense against the dark arts with Gilderoy Lockhart.
      My brother, Draco, and Ron don't like him much but I found a kindred spirit with Hermione. I've read all his books at least a hundred times definitely more. Hermione has too and we decided to sit next to each other to admire his smile and dimples.
       There is also this thing that excites me too. Ginny found this book that writes back to you and we both have been writing to it.
       The person that writes back is named Tom and he's a really good listener. I don't know how the magic works but he's really nice. I told him all about Harry and my friends. I told him about Draco too.
     Ginny and I talk to him after class in the evening.
     Anyways back to Lockhart's class. When we walked in portraits of Professor Lockhart were lining the walls, there was a cage at the front of the classroom, and Professor Lockhart was standing at the front of the class.
     "Welcome ladies and gentlemen," Lockhart said as we settled down, "I'd like to introduce you to," he paused, "Me."
     "Today we will have a slight pop quiz," he said.
     Hermione and I were ready for anything. We had passed our exams with honors. We could handle this whatever it was.
     Lockhart passed out the papers and I began the quiz.
1. What is Gilderoy Lockhart's favorite color?
    Easy, Lavender. He mentions it in year with the yeti.
     2. What is Gilderoy Lockhart's secret ambition?
     He wants to rid the world of evil and market hair products.
     Draco whispered in my ear, "All of these questions are about him?"
     "I bet he just wanted to see if any of us read the books," I responded.
     "Who would remember this?" asked Draco.
     "I know all of this. Isn't Lockhart the most fascinating guy ever?" I asked, "I hope whoever I marry has at least half the smile he does."
     Draco mumbled something but I couldn't hear him.
3. What is Gilderoy Lockhart's ideal birthday gift?
     In chapter 12 of Wandering With Werewolves he states that he would love peace between all nonmagic and magic people but he wouldn't say no to a bottle of Ogden's Old Firewhiskey.
     I finished my quiz and turned it in.
     Hermione asked, "How do you think you did?"
     I responded, "Quite well. Professor Lockhart's best side in photos is his left, right?"
     She frantically answered, "That's right, I forgot and wrote right. How silly of me."
     Lockhart gave Hermione and I each 10 house points since we got all of the answers correct.
     Later on he released a swarm of Cornish pixies and I agree with Hermione, he was giving us hands on experience.
On the way of running away from the pixies, I bumped and fell on top of an older hufflepuff.
"I'm so sorry," I apologized, "I should've watched where I was going."
The boy got up and straightened his robes and said, "It's fine." He put out his hand, "Cedric Diggory."
I shook his hand and said, "Rebecca Potter."
"So your the girl who lived. You're very pretty, Potter," replied Cedric.
"Right back at you, Diggory," I replied and then flustered, "I mean you're hot. Handsome. Um, I've got to go."
"See you around, Potter," he laughed.
I found Draco around the corner and he rolled his eyes, "Who was that?"
"His name is Cedric Diggory. I think he's the seeker for Hufflepuff. He's really nice. Plus he plays quidditch. I really like quidditch players they understand me."
"Well, lucky for you, I'm on the Slytherin team, Ginger."
     "You called me Ginger."
     "Yeah," he responded.
      "It's been a while since you've called me that," I started, "What position are you playing?"
     "One, which all the life threatening situations it seemed a bit out of place to  call you Ginger but yeah and two, I'm Slytherins new seeker. They needed one and then I tried out and they said I was much better than the other goons they had."
     "Wow, I'm excited we get to play on the same team."
     And with that, we walked off to the great hall.
