I'm excited. Slytherin practice starts today.
The past week has been loads of fun.
Ginny and I are still hanging out tons along with the book and Tom. Harry, Ron, and Hermione have been busy but we went to the Gryffindor common room Friday.
Draco keeps looking at me weirdly all the time. I'll wave to Cedric after he waves at me and Draco will growl or when I'm with Ron or the twins and I blush or something small, he glares at us. Honestly, I think he's jealous but again we're only twelve. I don't know what he's worried about happening.
Well, I guess I kind of like Cedric but only a bit. He's really nice and caring.
Draco and I walked down to quidditch pitch and Draco gave the whole team other than me nimbus 2001s.
He walked over to me and handed me a beautifully engraved Nimbus. It read, "Rebecca Potter, Slytherin's most valued player."
"Draco, this is too much. No one else got anything special. I feel bad," I said.
"Don't," said my captain, Marcus Flint, "Draco checked with us and we all agreed that you deserved this. You might have only been on the team for a year and you were gone during two weeks but you scored more than all of the other chasers."
"Thank you so much," I responded, "I love it."
We got ready to start practice when the Gryffindor team approached ours.
Our captains argued and then Flint released the news of Draco being our new seeker.
"Malfoy?" asked my brother.
"Yeah, Potter," Draco unintentionally started, "I got the team these." He showed his broom.
"Well at least the Gryffindor team didn't have to buy their way in. They got in on pure talent," remarked Hermione.
"I didn't mean it like..." Draco started before he was interrupted by Pugface.
"No one asked you, you filthy little mudblood," she screeched.
"Move mudblood, and you'll be spared," rang through my head along with the sound of my mother's scream.
"Eat slugs, Parkinson," yelled Ron.
I sank to the ground onto my knees and put my hands over my ears.
My eyes were shut tight and I heard Draco yell, "Impedimentia."
I felt somebody help me up and walked me somewhere. I opened my eyes and Arry, Ron, Ermione, and Draco were sat next to me across from Hagrid.
Ron was vomiting slugs, Hermione was pondering. Harry was confused and Draco was a bit overwhelmed.
Hagrid asked, "What happened to cause Becca and Ron to be in these kind a state?"
"Well," started Harry, "Parkinson called Hermione a word and I'm not sure what it means and then Ron fired a curse but if backfired and Rebecca was on her knees with her hands on her ears. Malfoy hit Parkinson with the impendiment jinx and here we are."
"Ermione, what did that girl call you?"asked Hagrid.
Hermione responded, "I'm not sure what it means but she called me a dirtmud? I'm not sure."
I whispered, "She called you a mudblood," I spoke up more with anger in my voice, "It's a foul name for someone who has nonmagic parents. It's a word that people like Parkinson use. They use it to lower the worth of good people like Hermione and my mum."
Ron asked me, "Why did the word make you that upset?"
"Voldemort said to my mum to move mudblood and you'll be spared but she wouldn't for Harry and I. I have dreams of that night sometimes. It's really a shame that some pureblood families can't see how truly amazing all wizards are."
Everyone stared at me for a second and continued the conversation.
Later, Draco walked me up to the dormitories.
"I'm sorry," he said, "For what happened to your mum. I'm sure she was an amazing person."
"Thanks, Blondie," I smiled.
*Warning I really want to get to Prisoner of Askaban since there is like a lot that will happen So Chamber Of Secrets is going to be much shorter than Sorcerer's Stone. I hope you still enjoy it even if it's very quick to read.*
