Chapter 5

Mom- I think we should call Amaya and Zatanna

Laurel- Who?

Zari walks in and says 'Some old friends who will be able to help you'

Ava- And we can't technically call Amaya but still.

Laurel-Why can't we?

Sara- Well she is from the past when cell phones weren't invented and she lives in Africa. 

Dani- Cool! Can we go! 

Ava- No not today, she is going to be at the BBQ this weekend anyway and you guys have school tomorrow? Do you think you can make it till the end of the week?

Blue- We can.

Dani- 'I think I can,' I say smiling at my family.

Kara- Okay let's get you girls home, Lena is already mad that I left in the middle of our movie. No reason to make the wifey mad. 

We all chuckle at the blonde and Mama opens a portal for her as Mom opens one for us. 

Dani- Zari you okay getting home?

Zari- I will be fine kiddo you get some sleep for tomorrow. She gives me a side hug and walked away as I turn toward my family who are waiting for me just before a portal. 

*Next day at School specifically during lunch.*

Lana- Yo Lil girl blue, want to go eat lunch under the shady tree in the courtyard? 

Dani-Dude I wore an all blue outfit once, will you let it go. I said with a laugh and a sigh at my dork of a friend. 

Lana rolls her eyes and says 'Food. Yes or no?

Dani- 'Of course, let's go,' we walk to the library courtyard which only takes 2 minutes. 

I plop down and lean against the tree while taking a deep breath of fresh air. Lana sit's down next to me but leans on me instead of the tree. 

I sling my arm around her and pull her into my side more. 

She takes a deep breath also and closes her eyes. 

I grab an apple from my bag and start munching on it. 

Lana- How was your day so far? I know you had Spanish class last period.

Dani- It actually went better than normal...

Blue- Spanish is a basic language. You should have told me earlier I can understand hundreds of languages not including alien ones. 

I smile at Blue's statement and keep talking with Lana 'I actually understood what they were saying, How about you?'

Lana- It has been really long so far but being with you is making it better. 

I start absentmindedly playing with my best friends hair as I hum in agreement and take another bite of apple.

Lana starts fiddling with her bracelet again and it looks like she is debating on whether or not to tell me something. I see her open and close her mouth several times.

Dani- You are fidgiting what's up? Are you okay?

Lana jumps a little seeming to forget that I was next to her. 

Lana- Yah... I just- You are my best friend you know that right?

Dani- No shit Sherlock,' I say trying to lighten the mood but the look of fear makes me stop and give her a light smile while saying 'Of course and you are mine.'
