Chapter 14

' That is the first step. You are not gonna win every single fight you are in, but the fact that you got up and kept trying and learned from your mistakes leads me to believe that you will be a great hero soon.' Alex says with a warm smile before continuing with, 'And you finally stopped being stubborn and got help from the Alien thing in your head.'

Dani- You knew!???

Alex- Of course I knew. Kara tells me everything and I was going to train you, Lana, and Conner so Sara explained exactly what I was getting into.

I glance at my mom and she gives me a nod in acknowledgment of Alex's statement. 

Alex- Look you got spunk kid and I think you will be a great fighter in the future, with or without the alien,

Dani- Blue. 

Alex- Blue's help. You are going to be my niece in law and if you are going to be a heroin and fighting baddies I want to make sure you are properly trained and prepared for anything or anyone. 

I smile at Alex and say, 'Thanks,' 

Alex- No problem kid, She says while giving me a side hug as we walk toward the house. 

Lana's POV

Conner and I were at the table in the house. I was eating potstickers as Conner was munching on some french fries. 

Conner- So...

I raise my eyebrow at my cousin that is more of a brother at this point and say 'So? So what?'

Conner- You and Dani, when did that happen?

Lana- Well it turns out Kryptonian's have soulmates

Conner- Okay so? What's that got to do with Dani?

I almost smack my forehead at his obliviousness as he shoves more fries into his mouth. 

Lana- She is my soulmate you dumbo

Conner- Ohhh cool. If she hurts you I will kill her otherwise I hope you are happy together.   He says while giving me a smile with his mouth full. 

I roll my eyes but know he is serious about killing Dani even if we are friends. 

Lana- Speaking of, you got your eye on anyone right now?

Conner chokes and I have to thumb his back so he can spit the food out. 

Lana- Don't die, please

Conner- Yeah yeah sorry to scare you, 

A second later Laurel walks in. 

Laurel- Hey Lana, Hey Kara, wheres my sissy

Lana- She is outback training with Alex still. 

'What about me?' Alex says walking in with Dani who looked a little worse for wear. 

Her lip looked busted and her eye was swelling slightly and she had a slight limp. 

My eyes widen and I quickly stand at the sight as I yell 'What the hell did you do to Dani???!!!!!!!'

I run up to Dani and grab her face to inspect it closer. 

Before I went into a full-blown panic for the safety of my girlfriend the girl in question grabs my hands and gives them a light kiss before saying, 'I am okay Lana. Blue says they will help me heal when I am asleep.' She gives me a reassuring smile which softens the rage slightly that I am about to bring down on my Aunt. 

I spin and look at my Aunt and with a nasty glare, I say 'If I hear you lay ONE' I hold up a finger for show and poke it into her chest as I speak, 'finger on Dani that is using excessive force. I will hunt you down and make you regret ever starting to train her.'  

During my rant, I hadn't noticed that my bracelet had fallen off and I also didn't notice that my heat vision got activated.

3rd person's POV 

Alex's eyes widen and Conner uses his speed to get in between Alex. 

Kara had heard the commotion and flew into the room. 

Kara quickly assessed the situation and grabbed Lana lightly by the shoulder and made Lana look her mother in the eyes. 

Lena walks in as this happens, just getting back from work. 

Kara holds her daughter tight and Dani sees the heat vision going into Kara's chest. 

Dani reacts quickly and walks up and grabs Lana's hand. 

The girl looks up to see her love and her Lazer vision turns off as she collapses into Dani's arm from pure exhaustion. 

Dani's POV

Lena finally snapped out of her shocked state and runs over to check on the girl with Alex close behind. 

Lena- Did she just?

Alex- Yes she did...

Kara- Lana used her powers and broke the Kryptonite bracelet off. 

Dani- What's that mean?

Lana had fallen asleep in my arms and I was holding her close. 

Lena- We don't know. 

Dani- What do you mean you don't know??!!

Alex- Kryptonite should have completely suppressed her powers. Even with the bracelet off she has never used her powers and she is still in the presence of the substance and it should have weakened her. 

Dani- So?

Kara- It may be possible that Lana has built up a resistance to Kryptonite.
