Chapter 13

AN: Thank you for the reads! It means the world and sorry for the lack of updates I will try and be more consistent! Also, I am planning to have more of a story arc for Laurel and maybe have her find a love interest. We will see. Thanks again for reading! 

Dani- You excited Lana?

Lana- Of course! I am so pumped right-

Before she could finish a blonde lady, who none of us had noticed, standing in the middle of the back yard said 'Woah big crowd. I thought there was supposed to be three of you.'

Oliver- Calm down Artemis we are just here for emotional support.

Kara- Now where is your wife and my sister

Alex and Zatanna fly into the back yard on a yellow plate thingy. 

Alex- We are right here calm down. 

The plate thingy disappears as they walk towards us. 

Conner walks up so he is next to Lana and I before saying, 'Um who are these to people and why are they in charge of our training.'

The blonde- Wow he looks like Clarke...

Conner practically growls and starts to charge but Lana and I both grab one of his arms before he can get anywhere near her. 

Artemis- Wowza, 

'Artemis, honey, let's try to not piss off the person who can bend steel' Zatanna says while walking up to the blonde and kissing her cheek. 

Artemis chuckles and nods before saying 'Who are you people. I met you when you were younger but it has been a while.'

Dani- I am Dani, Sara and Ava's daughter. 

Artemis- 'Makes sense you look exactly like Sara minus the blue hair and they shaved side, but you have Ava's height.' I just nod and run a hand through my blonde and blue hair. 'Who are the rest of you?'

Lana- I am Lana

Kara- 'My daughter,' Kara says with a proud smile

I grab Lana's hand and give it a light squeeze before saying 'And my girlfriend' 

She gives me a warm smile and kisses my cheek. 

I hear the blonde, Artemis I think is what Zatana called her, snicker at my most likely bright red cheeks. I glare at her and she covers her mouth to try and stop the laughs, it doesn't work very well. 

Conner laughs at us with Artemis but Lana is the one to turn and punch him. 

She points a finger at him and says 'You are part Kryptonian also so you may have a soul mate also. And when you are all gooey eyes with that person I am gonna say 'Ha I told you so' and tease you endlessly.' 

His eyes widen in fear as he realizes exactly what he brought upon himself. 

I just laugh. 

Artemis- 'Well it is good to meet all of you. I am guessing you all already know Alex right?' We all nod. 

Artemis was about to continue when Cade interrupts and says 'I was wondering if I could help with training these guys and gals. There are three of them and you guys are wonderful at fighting and I just want to offer my services to help out in any way.'

Alex and Artemis look at each other and shrug before Alex says 'Why not?'

Dani- Can we start please! I am dying to learn more about this suit! And how much ass I am going to kick in it! 

Cade- Patience kid. The basis for any good hero is fundamentals. Even the strongest people like Kara and Diana need to know basic self-defense at a MINIMUM

Dani- So no suit?

Artemis- Nope, but I am curious what suit you are talking about

My mom butts in and says 'Later Artemis.' 

Cade- For now let's split up. Everyone's fighting style will be different and it will be easier to work one on one.

Artemis- Agreed. Cade, you should work with Lana, I will work with Conner, and Alex you should work with Dani. 

Alex- Wait I wanted to work with Lana. She is my niece after all. 

Cade- Exactly she is your niece. This is martial arts training. You aren't going to try hard enough to get her to the point that she needs to get or give her tough love when it is necessary. It will be. 

Alex grumbles and is clearly annoyed but nods her head in agreement. 

4 hour later 

I close my eyes as I try and brace for the pain of getting flipped onto my back for the 100th time. It hurts just as badly as the 99 other times she has done it. 

'Again' Alex says in a tone that I am pretty sure is meant to push my buttons. It is working. I growl and roll onto my stomach before pushing my self back into a standing position. 

Lana and Conner had stopped for the day because Lana had her Mom's appetite so she needed a break to eat and Conner was never one to deny a free meal. 

My mom sat outside with Cade and Artemis. Everyone else had to go home to their families. 

Sara- Alex...

Alex- Sara, don't. You have your methods and I have mine. I am training her so let it be. 

I get into the fighting stance that Alex showed me and take a deep breath. 

Dani- Okay Blue, bring up that heads up display thingy. 

A second later my vision changes and it starts to analyze Alex who was chilling in a relaxed position. 

Blue- About time. 

Dani- Sorry but I wanted to try and beat her by myself. 

Blue- Yourself now includes me. 

Dani- Fair enough. I apologize for my stubbornness.

Blue- No worries just don't get flipped again. I can feel your pain to an extent, so let's avoid it. 

Dani- Understood.

Alex seems to notice that I wasn't paying attention and charges at me as she swings for my head with a smirk on her face. 

I block it, to her surprise, and counter by swinging for her stomach. 

I make contact and Alex stumbles backward in surprise but quickly regains her composure as I charge at her. 

The blow to the stomach caused Alex to pay more attention. 

The monitor in my vision is helping track Alex's attacks a lot easier and I can anticipate and block much easier. 

The training fight continues and Alex eventually gets the better of me and knocks my feet out from under me and I land on my back again. 

Blue- Ow

Dani-Yah Yah I know it hurt me also, 

I see a hand in my face as I sit up and rub my head. I look up and see Alex smiling at me. 

Alex- Good job kid

I grab her hand and stand up before saying 'I got my butt kicked how is that good'

' That is the first step. You are not gonna win every single fight you are in, but the fact that you got up and kept trying and learned from your mistakes leads me to believe that you will be a great hero soon.' Alex says with a warm smile before continuing with, 'And you finally stopped being stubborn and got help from the Alien thing in your head.'

Dani- You knew!???
