Chapter 20

Dani's POV

Laurel- You got this and I also may be joining in the family business...

I glance at my twin with a questioning glance and say 'What do you mean?'

Laurel holds up her right hand were a green and black ring was on her pointer finger. It takes me a second to recognize the ring as the other artifact from all those weeks ago.

I raise my eyebrow at Laurel and she seems to read my mind and says 'Yep it's a lot weirder then you would think,'

Dani- Good to know I am excited to know more about it. By the what happened I don't remember anything after walking into the courtyard.

Laurel- Well Lana found me and explained that she was coming home with us and we walked out into the courtyard. When we walked out we saw you getting the shit beaten out of you by that group of thugs

'Noooooo, I beat the shit out of them,' I say with an eye roll

Lana- Not the point. I couldn't use my powers because it ran the risk of exposing Conner and my mom's powers and secret identities as heroes. It would put a bigger target on my family and our friends. 

Laurel- I knew that so I told her to help you while I dealt with the gang of dumbos. 

Kara- My daughter realized the weight of the situation and called me using a special device that only I can hear. I came as fast as I could. 

Lana- I then got my mom to take you here to heal. She hesitated worried about Laurel but I told her I would help Laurel and that you were a more important priority at that moment. My mom agreed and took you here. I then turned and saw Laurel getting beaten pretty badly by the group. Next thing I know she was in her suit and knocked them all out. Then these two speedsters showed up and tied the evil guys up. 

Dani- Okay that makes sense I am glad you two are okay' I turn to the speedsters and say 'Thank you for helping them' 

Wally- Of course! 

Bart- We didn't help much but glad that we could help at all

'Oh!' my twin says as she seems to remember something, 'Lana did you hear what I said before I turned into that suit'

Lana- Kinda, I only remember the beginning. It went something like 'In brightest...' I look at my sister to see if there is any recognition in what Lana was saying. '...in blackest night,' 

I see her eyes turn bright green as she interrupts Lana and finishes what she was saying 

Laurel- No evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might, Beware my power, Green Lantern's light!!!

She raised her hand and there is a bright flash of green that makes all of us close our eyes

I open my eyes to see my sister in a cool green white and black outfit. It had a cool hood and a mask that covered her eyes and changed their color. Her eyes had stopped glowing. 

Mama- I guess it is true that you are the new green lantern for Earth

 Laurel looks at her outfit and I hear her say 'Cool...' under her breath

Dani- Have you not seen the outfit before?

Laurel- No I got a little overwhelmed and the suit went back into the ring without me realizing I had changed into the outfit. I have no memory of what happened

Barry walks in and says 'That isn't good, we need to get into contact with the other lantern in this sector to find out more about green lanterns and what your responsibilities are.' 

Mom- sounds like a plan but how do we do that

Kara- I have a feeling that Jo'nn may know who it is and how to get into contact with them

Mama- Well if he doesn't we will figure it out anyway

Dani- That's right! We got your back, Laurel!
