Chapter 31

Last time

I rest a hand on my chin as I think through my idea. I will need Gideon and Jarvis with Blue to see if it might work.

I make eye contact with Vers and say 'Look I just had an idea. I don't know if it will work but I am going to figure it out if it will. It will be a last minute resort but I will need you and your moms help can you get her to agree to help for me?'

Vers nods enthusiastically.

I smile and say 'Good. Now let's go back. You don't have to confess but you should at least talk to my sister and explain what you are feeling. She is probably experiencing similar stuff.

Dani's POV

It only took us a minute to get back to the ship. 

Everyone left to go home and sleep before we continued research tomorrow. Yah school was off the books for the time being until we stopped the end of the world. 

I see a frown form on Vers face when she saw that Laurel had already left. 

I tap on the center counsel to wake up Gideon. 

Gideon's face brightens the room as she says 'Hello Miss Lance, Miss Danvers. Dani your mothers and sister left to go home and sleep. Same with you Vers. Your parents told me too tell you to head home whenever you are ready but don't stay out late.' 

I nod and say 'Thanks Gideon. Would you mind waking Jarvis, I want to run some ideas by you and Blue.' 

'Of course' 

Gideon says before I turn to Vers and say 'Laurel has had a long day so she is probably asleep right now but you should just send her a text letting her know you are sorry for storming off and that you will talk tomorrow. She will appreciate it' 

Vers nods slightly and pulls out her phone and I turn back to Gideon who was now next too Jarvis. 

I lift my chin slightly as I say 'Gideon is there any way I can link Blue into your system?' 

There is a brief pause before a cord appears to my right as Gideon says 'If Blue can plug that into your suit then yes' 

'Blue?' 

My suit comes onto my body again and Blue says 'There is port on the palm of your left hand you can plug it in there' 

I grab the cord and do as Blue says. 

I second later a hear the annoying voice that has grown on my over some time out loud say 'You can unplug the cord Dani.' 

As soon as I do my suit dissolves back into my body. 

I turn to Jarvis as I rest my hands on the counter and say 'Jarvis please run a simulation with your knowledge of the group we are facing and the people we have on our team. See who wins' 

'Of course Miss Lance' he says before a pause in sues. 

While he is running the simulations Vers says 'What are you trying to figure out?' 

I tap my fingers impatiently as I explain 'I am a really analytical thinker. If I have all the possibilities in front of me I think I might be able to think of a plan to defeat these idiots.'

I can hear the confusion in Vers's voice as she says 'But there is still so many unknown factors. There is no way we can think of a realistic strategy right now without more knowledge of their power.' 

I nod my agreement and start a response but Jarvis interrupts and says 'Sorry to cut in ladies but I have run a couple of million simulations.' 

I let out a small 'Wow' 

before he continues saying 'Taking into account that they most likely are equal or stronger in power to Laurel, and there numbers are seemingly around the same size as the whole green Lantern corp. The odds of us winning at the moment are 1 in 3.5 million and even in the situation we sustained heavy loses.'

I nod solemnly and make eye contact with Jarvis as I say 'Jarvis if Blue shows you something can you factor that into the scenarios?'

Jarvis's head nods and he says 'Of course' 

I smile slightly and say 'Blue please play back what happened when Vers hit us with that blast. Jarvis please run the simulation but on a greater scale. Like if two people where hitting us with all the power they had and we absorbed, amplified and sent  it at the enemies. ' 

Blue plays the clip

I glance at Vers and see she has an eyebrow raised at me as she says 'What are you planning?' 

Jarvis cuts in much quicker this time 'Again sorry ladies but I finished.' 

It's my turn to raise an eyebrow 'Already?' 

He nods and says 'Yes. Considering how much you and Blue amplified the blast from the small amount, if you had enough energy absorbed you would wipe out most if not the entire army every time if you struck at the right time.' 

Vers smacks my arm and says 'DUDE THIS IS AMAZING! We can save Laurel and everyone! We have to tell everyone first thing tomorrow!' 

I excitement floods my body as I nod my agreement but Jarvis cuts in and says 'But there is a consequence for you Miss Lance.' Both Vers and I's smiles fall before Jarvis continues 'Because of the amount of energy that is required your connection to Blue will be severed.' 

Vers looks lost as she says 'So you will lose your powers...'

Blue starts saying 'Yes and she-' 

I cut them off and say 'Not the time Blue. This is going to be a last minute resort. Let's see if we can't figure something out first. It might not even come to that.' I pause before continuing 'Yes I will lose my powers but if that means saving everyone I am okay with it. Others might not be. Especially Laurel. Keep this between us. Only tell your mom the very minimum amount of details. Just that she may need to hit me with her powers if things go south? Okay? No one else. Not even Laurel.' 

Vers starts to argue but I quickly say 'Promise me.' 

She nods reluctantly and says 'Okay. I promise. I should get home my parents are going to worry about me.' 

I nod and say 'Good night.' 

She waves bye as she walks away. 

Once she is gone I turn back to the AI's. 

There is a deafening silence for a minute as I think through all of the things I had learned today. 

Blue cuts into the silence and says 'Dani you do realize that if you do this-' 

I cut them off before they could finish the thought 'Yah I know. But if it means saving Laurel, my parents, Lana, everyone. Then it will be worth it.'
