Chapter 30

AN: Yo! This is kinda trash but

Last time

I close my eyes and look at the ceiling before cursing in the little bit of Kree and little bit of Asgardian my parents taught me (alien languages are in italics when they happen but that isn't often) 'Stupid freaking stubborn, Martyr complex mother fucking amazing girl is going to be the fucking death of me.'

My mother's and the rest of the group snap out of their shocked trance as I walk out to go find Laurel as my mom yells 'Language!'

20 minutes later

Dani's POV 

I gave Laurel some space but now it's time we actually talk so I walk to the storage area of the waverider where I am assuming she is hiding out with Vers. 

I walk down and see her sitting on a box meditating. 

She must have heard me walk in because her eyes open and meet mine. I walk up and take a seat on the box next to her as I give her a small smile as I say 'I suppose there is no chance I can talk you out of doing this' 

She shakes her head as she says 'Not even a little. If it's me or everyone I love I will choose myself every time sorry sis.' 

I sigh and say 'Okay I would do the same thing but let's try and figure something out before you go sacrifice yourself to the evil dudes.' 

She laughs loudly and says 'Okay sounds good' 

I laugh with her and say 'I am a little surprised that Vers didn't get you to cave into a different plan when she came running after you. I mean you are clearly in love with each other.' with a slight chuckle. 

When the only response I got is silence I look at her and see her looking at her hands with her brows creased in confusion. 

I rest a hand on her shoulder and say 'Laur?' 

She snaps out of her thoughts and looks at me as she says 'Vers came after me?' 

I nod slowly and say 'Yah, after you guys argued and you ran away I calmed her down a little and explained there was no chance that we could talk you out of that trade if it meant saving people. She seemed to realize I was right so she calmed a little then cursed in two different languages about 'You having a fucking martyr complex and amazing and way to stubborn for your own good' or some shit then she said 'That you would be the death of her' and she walked in the direction you went. I just assumed she came after you did she not?

She shakes her head and says 'No I haven't seen her since I ran away' 

My brows crease this time as I say 'Huh. I wonder where she went...' 

My sister pulls out her phone and texts Vers saying 'Where are you?'

I look over her shoulder and smile at the blue heart next to her name. 

Three dots appear almost immediately and it shows that she read it but no response comes. 

I see the frown on my sisters face so I squeeze her arm and say 'She is fine probably just went home and fell asleep with her phone on or something.' 

The explanation didn't even make sense but it calmed my sister a little before we walked back to the others. 

She gives me a week smile and says 'Why don't you head back and try and keep moms from having a panic attack over this whole thing. I will be there in a second.'

I give her shoulder a light squeeze as she looks down at her phone once again. 

Anger rises in my chest as I walk out of the room.
