["when are you coming home?"]

"not sure, ailee. but i'll come back."

["it's been two years, rain. have you heard anything from the boys since then?"]

"i wish i have, but none."

ailee sighed from the other side of the laptop's screen. they've been voice calling and video calling each other every now and then.

rain would usually answer the same words to ailee when she'd ask about them after inquiring about rain's health.

["well, it isnt really new anymore. but still disappointing."]

rain didnt answer. she thought about what ailee said and even without any further explanation, she knew she was right.

["anyway, i really miss you. you didnt come home for your birthday four months ago."]

"yeah, sorry about that."

"i celebrated her birthday with her. so rest assured she wasnt sulking that time, ailee."

the two turned to the side of the door where mark just entered. rain smiled at him and gestured for him to sit infront of the laptop too.

["oh, hey mark!"]

"hey, ailee."

the three of them stayed there for a few more minutes before rain and ailee eventually bid each other their goodbyes.

["i'll see you soon right? no lies?"]

"yes, ailee. no lies."

["alright, i'll see you when i see you."]

rain waved at the laptop's camera and in a flash, ailee dropped the call. she sighed and pushed herself to lie down on the bed.

"shouldnt you be ready for the surprise?"

rain glanced at the boy who was leaning on the door frame before sitting back up.

mark smiled before shrugging his shoulders. he walked towards rain and fixed her hair.

"let's take you home."

"mark! rain! wow, i really didnt expect to hear you'll come back."

the said two exchanged glances before smiling at the guy infront of them. after almost a day, they were finally back.

"johnny, you liar, we already told you."

the said boy laughed and patted mark's shoulder. he took rain's bags and guided them to the car.

rain took in a deep breath and calmed herself down. it's been quite long. two years is long.

"im so nervous, what if they dont want to see me?"

mark rolled his eyes and gave her a pinch on both sides of her cheek.

"ailee is excited to see you and for sure, your mom is too."

rain's cheeks were starting to hurt so she was slapping the boy's hand but he only pinched them harder.

"ouch, let go!"

"you're too cute."

"you two look good together."
