5 years later..
"thank you so much, abnews! we'll see you again soon!"
the five boys waved their hands in the air as tears continued to stream down their face.
after six year of promoting as ab6ix together, their promotion has come to a hiatus.
it was the group's decision. afterall, they werent getting any younger. and they needed the rest they deserved.
for their last stage, they performed their debut track—breathe—in memory of how they all started.
after their final performance, their closing vcr showed and they were pulled down by the lift on the stage.
"good work, ab6ix! a job well done after six years. now, i hope you rest well and have fun on your break!"
the five boys grinned despite their tears still streaming down their cheeks. woojin clapped his hands together and youngmin cheered,
"ab6ix group hug!"
and the five boys huddled together in a chaotic group, hugging each other while laughing with the tears clouding their vision.
"i cant believe i lived half of my life with you annoying people."
donghyun and youngmin both had offended faces after hearing the youngest's words.
woojin grinned, remembering the pranks he managed to pull on the boy in all those years;
and woong sighed.
he remembered his house—their house, way before they even became famous. back when it was only the five of them—a chaotic group of friends goofing around.
in all the years he's been in ab6ix, he never had the chance to visit his old house, let alone visit his mother.
years of being an idol with a mild self-doubt made him wary of everything he does.
"hey,"
woong snapped out of his trance and smiled at donghyun who was smiling at him too.
donghyun patted his shoulders, an assurance of something the two knew but werent quite specific of.
"you have a year, catch up with your life."
woong chuckled. donghyun noticed a different glint in his eyes as the former stared back at him.
longing? sadness? or was it worry?
"you make it sound like i lost half of it before now."
"yes, you did. you lost her for this dream."
then came silence. it occured to woong that he, indeed, lost half of his chance to live happily in the future when he chose to leave her.
what happens after he retires as an idol? would there still be fans to make him happy and smile? would those with them now stay until who knows when?
would the happiness still be there despite his age? would he still be accepted by people even when he doesnt have anything to give them?
words like this lingered in his mind after hearing what donghyun said. the latter being the team's literal angel, smiled.
