"mark was my neighbor. on the first day we met, we learned about each other and it didnt end there."

rain faced woong silently and gave him a broken smile with her quivering lips.

woong stared at her with his eyes wide open as he saw the girl's current state.

she looked so happy just a while ago, but now, she looked like she was about to breakdown.

"when i needed someone, i had him."

the boy's heart ached at what she just said. it was true that mark was the only one there for her.

and for some reason, woong felt like she didnt want him anymore. like she was just saying these to push him away fully.

"he never left. not even when i told him to leave."

at this point, the boy felt his tears well up. it wasnt because of the girl talking about a different boy.

it was because she talked about him not leaving her when she needed him the most.

woong was definitely aware that he left the girl during one of her sad days.

those were the days that she was hurting but she didnt want anyone else to know. and he was sad because he had to leave her.

"were you happy?"

rain snapped her head towards his direction upon hearing the unexpected question.

she gave him a small smile. even when she was unsure of everything, the still tried to smile for him.

"yes? i met new people, discovered new things. it wasnt a bad experience."

woong smiled sadly at her before walking closer. he reached out for the girl, moving away the hair blocking her face.

"even without me, will you be happy?"

at first, he was hesitating because of fans that may see them. but before he was an idol, he was rain's jeon woong.

"no." rain's answer made him stop and stare at her with a shocked expression.

"when i was broken you helped me fix myself. ever since then, i knew i wouldnt be the usual rain kim when you're not there."

the girl inhaled a deep breath before giving him a smile.

"you're already a part of me i cant seem to remove."

woong sighed in relief. she may have been happy without him but he felt relieved that somehow, rain still kept him in his heart.

but behind the relief he kept for himself was the worry. it wasnt just him and rain now, mark's in the picture too.

woong's thoughts were cut off when rain reached for his hand and held it, pulling it down.

"but if i have to be, for you, then i will be."

the confusion was evident in the boy's face but rain only gave him a smile laced with sadness.

she tapped the back of his hand softly before letting go of it and walking ahead of him.

"if i have to be happy without you then i will be," she said in a mumble.

after a few more silent steps they reached a pavilion lit by tiny lights. it made the place look even better.

but one thing aside from those lights caught woong's attention. the entirety of the pavilion.

it looks similar to the pavilion i brought her to .. two years ago.

"this," rain began, "daniel helped me fix it. he had a photo of the pavilion you prepared for us."

the girl smiled as she made her way to the pavilion, touching the decorations they made to make the place look identical.

"two years ago, under the same looking pavilion, you left me. you disappeared right after that night without even a clue."

rain glanced at him with a smile before looking back at the interior of the pavilion.

i think it's time.

with a deep breath, woong walked towards the girl and gave her a hug from behind, resting his chin on her head.

"youngmin got casted by a company named brand new music more than two years ago."

rain felt her breathing hitch. she knew that what woong was gonna say was about what happened before.

she didnt want to hear it for she knew it was another heartbreak with the same reason as before, but she knew she had to.

"when the company knew he had a group of friends he performed with, they casted all of us. the other three weren't a problem, but i was."

you do your best in everything, how could you be the problem?

"the company was hesitating to put me in the group since they thought i'd be pressured with the amount of expectations. in school and outside."

so this was when we didnt talk much because of your responsibilities, huh.

"so i trained and did my best. i was the student council secretary but i didnt complain about anything because i wanted this. we all did."

i would have listened and helped you, woongie. if only you tried to tell me.

"two months before we left, i was finally preparing for my debut with the boys. they seemed to have experience so it wasnt a problem for them. and again, it was for me."

"that day we stood infront of each other when you were at our place? i was from training. you were there, so close but it felt like you were so far."

rain slowly shut her eyes, feeling the tears flow from them as she silently listened to what more the boy had to say.

"we were told to leave without anyone knowing where we would be after the night of the prom, so i had no choice but to leave."

woong took in a deep breath before removing his arms around the girl and spinning her to face him.

"i wanted to stay, so badly. but this was the dream the five of us had. we're a family too, rain. and it's all or nothing. it's a sacrifice for them."

rain slowly nodded her head and gave him a smile.

you didnt regret that decision, right woong?

at that moment, just like the time they were at the secret garden years ago, the sun started to kiss the horizon as they stood there to watch.

and like all the other memories they had with each other, the downpour started to fall and touch the ground.

after everything that happened, i still find myself coming back to you.

but now that i heard everything, i think it's better if i dont come back anymore.
