"rain, it's been two weeks. are you sure woong didnt message you?"

the girl shook her head with a small smile, "dont worry so much, ailee."

even though she's the one who said that, she was worried herself. it's been two weeks, who wouldnt worry?

after the prom, the boys suddenly didnt come to school. at first the two thought they were busy.

but even daniel said that woong couldnt be contacted. all his works were passed down to midam for the mean time.

rain and ailee even tried to go to their house but no one was there. woong's mom didnt say anything too.

rain massaged at her temples as she checked all the papers on her table. some were from school since they were graduating in a week.

and the rest was for her flight, bound in two weeks.

"rain.."

the said girl glanced beside her. her mom and ailee was there, staring at her.

"dear, i know you want this so bad. but are you sure?"

"mom, ailee. we talked about thi—"

"you aren't just leaving school here, rain. you're leaving korea, you're leaving us."

a sad smile made its way to rain's lips. she held ailee and her mom's hand and rubbed it with her thumb softly.

"mom, i honestly dont want to. but i want to try this. im sorry."

her mom sighed and sat beside her, patting her back. ailee did the same and rubbed rain's shoulder.

sometimes we have to sacrifice. not just for ourselves, but also for the people around her.

and this was rain's sacrifice. she had to sacrifice the sense of belongingness she had for them.

yes, it was hard for her and ailee. given the fact that woong and the boys suddenly disappeared too.

but they dont have a choice. it's how things work for them.

**

"i'll miss you, rain. call me at times okay? dont make me worry."

the two girls laughed and hugged. rain wanted to go with ailee but ailee had to cover work in the cafe.

and rain wasnt there for just a quick vacation too. so they had to rely on messages and calls now.

"i wont, i'll call you. i promise."

"good. youngmin didnt call me back when he said that, you should atleast fulfill that."

the two of them laughed at ailee's joke. but they both knew so well that it wasnt just a simple joke. it was more to that.

"rain, you need to go now. they're calling your plane."

rain smiled sadly at her mom and hugged her one more time before leaving them there.

just start again, rain. you can do it.

**

"ugh i cant believe im staying here alone."

rain sighed and rolled around her bed. her mom made her stay in the house they owned and she felt lonely.

korea was different. it felt like home to her. but now she's in new york, how different could it be?

*ding*

the girl suddenly jolted up and sat properly on the bed. who's ringing the doorbell?

with a frown, she made her way outside the house only to be greeted by a guy.

he was smiling shyly, holding out a box. rain glanced at it then back at the boy.

"uhm, hi. im your neighbor and my mom told me you just moved in, so.."

rain opened her mouth to say something but closed it again and smiled.

she took the box from him and smiled, "well, yes. i just moved in a few hours ago. thank you."

the boy nodded and reached out his hand for a handshake. "im mark. mark lee."

"im rain kim."

"so you mean to say that you're from korea?"

"yep."

"i've been there too, it's a nice place."

rain invited mark inside her house a few hours ago and they were in the living room, eating the cookies mark gave her.

they've been talking for almost an hour and only then did mark notice the time.

"uh so im gonna go ahead now. if you ever need anything you can ring next door."

rain nodded and gave him a grateful smile. they both walked out of her house.

"you can come over if you need help or something, see you when i see you."

mark smiled and nodded his head, "yeah." rain waved at him as he walked back to their house next door.

rain sighed and went back inside. she fixed their mess and cleaned the house before heading to her room.

**

"i guess it'll be like this from now on."

she sighed and glanced at the window, raindrops started to fall from the sky.

as if it was one with them, the memories of rain with woong started to flow out of her mind.

"i miss you," she mumbled.

she looked around the room and her eyes stopped at the wall near the window.

three frames hung there. one where she was with ailee. the next was her with ailee and the boys during prom.

and the last was her with woong, standing inside the pavilion holding each other's hand.

"but we both need to move on now."

as the downpour continued to pour outside without mercy, rain stared at the frames.

unable to contain her tears, they started to slip from her eyes as her fingers traced the smiles on their faces.

it was hard to accept the fact the boys didnt show up even after a month since the night of the prom.

and now it felt more harder not just for rain but also for ailee. the two were separated now too.

rain wiped away her tears and went infront of the window, staring at her face even when there were raindrops there.

"i knew you were lying, woong. but i wanted you to tell me without pressure."

and now im just sad and disappointed.
