"hi, rain."

the said girl forced in a gulp before smiling with a bow and greeting the person back,

"it's nice to see you again, mrs. jeon."

rain's lips quivered as the words slipped out of her mouth. her shoulders were tense and she started to fiddle with her fingers.

mark glanced at her and noticed her actions. she's so nervous, he thought. the girl started to breathe unevenly.

he inwardly sighed and placed his arms on her shoulders while his free hand made it's way to rain's left hand.

"calm down, you'll be fine." rain nodded her head, trying to do as she was told.

she stared at mark's eyes as she tried to calm herself down. his eyes gave her assurance, that there was nothing to be afraid of.

while the two were caught up with trying to make rain's breathing steady again, everyone in the room watched them.

eight pairs of eyes bore into them. and amidst everyone watching them, one person stood out the most as tears fell from his eyes.

the guy beside him tapped his shoulder and gave him a small smile. it wasnt encouraging but somehow, it made him feel alright.

"it's fine. you'll be fine."

and as he smiled back at the guy, a question popped into his head like a mushroom.

did you ever forget about me when i left?

did you forget about jeon woong?

"so how are you, rain? two years away from home is long, dont you think?"

rain smiled at mrs. jeon and nodded her head before giving a sigh to properly express what she felt

"everything's tough, mrs. jeon. but im trying to cope up with it all."

"that's great news,"

they sat there in the garden, embracing the breeze that passed by them silently.

"my son didnt do it on purpose, rain."

the girl ears perked up and she turned her head at mrs. jeon who was staring at the flowers infront of them.

"it was a great opportunity for him and i wanted him to pursue it because it's what he's always wanted."

mrs. jeon gave her a smile before placing her palm on rain's shoulder, tapping it slightly.

rain sat there, staring at the older lady and waited for her to say what she wanted to— what she had to say.

"but he didnt want to leave you."

rain's breathing hitched as the tears she's been holding back started to fall endlessly from her eyes.

"woong didnt want to leave you. same as how the boys didnt want to leave you and ailee."

it was starting to get clear to rain now, she was starting to understand everything as she completed the puzzle, piece by piece.

he wanted our last memory together to be happy.

it explained why woong left her in the pavilion that night, two years back. he didnt want to leave her sadly.
