just like any other day, rain was hanging out with the boys in their house.
the girl and donghyun were practicing for rain's upcoming performance an the boys just came in to check.
they were there often—everyday, almost. the festival was approaching so fast that they had to keep on practicing.
ailee was too busy with the cafe that she couldn't skip her shifts to be with them so they go there sometimes.
woong was busy too, but he cleared out the day to be with his friends—including rain.
"what are you performing, rain?"
"im not telling anyone, daehwi."
"what?! donghyun hyung knows, how exactly did you 'not' tell anyone?!"
the boys and rain laughed at daehwi going hysterical.
it was obvious that the boy wanted to hear the song.
daehwil liked singing too. plus, he composed songs so it was like the devil's temptation to listen to rain's song.
"we composed it together so he'd know, of course."
daehwi's frown wasn't leaving his face anytime soon so rain went to him and gave him a hug.
"the title is shining stars," the girl whispered.
in an instant, daehwi's frown turned upside down and he returned the hug.
when they pulled away daehwi was smiling widely and rain laughed at his smile that looked weird.
woojin's forehead creased and he flicked daehwi's nose.
"you look like you heard something weird."
the younger glared at his hyung while rubbing his nose that turned red.
"you didn't have to hit my nose!"
the older boys laughed at them while they were bickering and rain took her time to glance at all of them.
the smile on her face was something she didn't know she still had on her.
and it made her happy, how it was still there after so long.
all this time, she was just waiting for the right people to make her smile. and now she found them.
you're my shining stars.

"but do i really have todo this? sunbaenim, im nervous."
she fiddled with her fingers and bit her lips anxiously.
"what if i suddenly breakdown and ruin the performance?"
rain was going hysterical backstage while daniel was trying to calm her down.
it was her first time to perform during a school festival but she promised the boys and herself she'd do her best.
"rain, you're up in ten."
hearing those words from the staff, rain's hands trembled and they went cold. i dont like this.
she shut her eyes tightly and moved away from daniel.
the poor boy was going on panic, he didnt know what to do.
"hyung," a boy tapped daniel's back.
turning to face him, daniel saw donghyun behind.
"oh, you're looking for rain? she's over there. i cant calm her down."
donghyun nodded and gave him a smile, "i'll handle."
he slowly made his way behind the girl who was trying to calm herself down—which was, no use, of course.
he silently chuckled to himself before giving the girl a back hug that startled and at the same time, calmed rain.
"you know we'll support you no matter what happens, yeah?"
"yes, but i want to do well. i dont want to disappoint everyone."
rain's insecurity made donghyun feel sad. he was like this before and it was hard for him to see someone be the same.
he pulled away from the hug and made the girl face him. with a bright smile, he gave the girl's head a pat.
"you do well in everything and you said during our practice that you'll do your best, right?"
rain nodded her head slowly and gave donghyun a small smile. her confidence was growing a bit at that time.
then do your best, that's all that matters.
"then do your best, that's all that matters."
rain immediately hugged donghyun and whispered in his ear a little,
"thank you."
she pulled away quick and wiped off her tears when she realized it was almost her turn.
donghyun was glad to see the girl smiling and confident again.
it was one of the things he tried to correct in her whenever they had to practice.
she'd usually sing in a low voice, afraid that her voice would fail her even without trying.
and he didnt like seeing her that way. she was good at singing, but she wasnt confident.
and he wanted to change it, so bad that he took care of her so well when she had her breakdown.
it wasnt a nice sight, but if donghyun had to see it before the girl became confident, he'd do it.
"okay, rain! you're up, go!"
rain spared donghyun a glance and smiled, waving at him and raising her hand with a 'fighting'.
donghyun giggled at the girl's cuteness and did the same.
when rain left for her stage, donghyun went outside to stand with the other students.
she'll do well, she always does.
with a smile on his face, donghyun went out to watch rain's performance.
oblivious to the fact that woong has seen everything of his interaction with rain.
