"sleepyhead, wake up!"

rain groaned and threw the pillow she was holding to whoever was waking her up.

"rainy, come on!"

by this time, rain already knew it was mark because only he would want to annoy the girl while she's sleeping.

"no. get out of my house, mark!"

the boy pouted and continued to disturb her sleep. he even pulled the girl's blanket just to wake her up.

unable to take the annoyance, rain sat up straight causing the two of them to bump into each other.

"what is your problem, child!"

"child who? we're going somewhere so fix yourself quick!"

rain rolled her eyes but did what she was asked to anyway. she did her morning rituals before heading to the kitchen.

the smell of bacon and eggs lingered around the house and the girl felt excited with it.

the past few months since she's stayed in the house alone, mark would always come to wake her and cook for her.

when they're bored, he'd take her out to different places when they had time too.

although she didnt like the idea of being spoiled, mark didnt really take no for an answer.

"im gonna get used to this," rain joked.

"i dont want to stop doing it so you can get used to this."

whatever mark meant by that, it made rain shut up. she smiled and sat on the chair, leaning on the kitchen counter as she watched him.

rain wasnt that oblivious when it came to mark. the boy just stuttered often when he was nervous and it made things clearer to rain.

she knew he liked her but she didnt want them to be awkward so instead, she decided to ignore it.

and thankfully, mark didnt really try on making a move on her. well, he would usually say things to her like earlier but both of them would take it as a joke.

"mark, take off this blindfold! where are we even going?"

"you're gonna like it, i assure you."

"and if i dont?"

"you cant 'not' like it."

rain sighed in defeat and allowed the boy to drag her to where they were supposed to go.

after a few minutes of walking, they stopped. mark took of rain's blindfold after they stopped but it felt like nothing happened.

the place they were at was too dark that nothing could be seen.

"hey what's this abo—"

"surprise!"

as if it had a mind of its own, rain's hands covered her mouth.

in front of her was mark's mom, woong's mother, her mom and her bestfriend, ailee, with her mom.

"happy birthday, rain!"

the said girl scanned the room and was quite surprised when she noticed the familiar place.

it's ... my house?
