The next thing I remember was waking up with my hand wrapped in a fluffy bandage but I couldn't feel anything from my elbow down. I was very confused as I looked around spotting Calum asleep near my hip. I whined reaching over with my good hand playing with his hair. Soft brown eyes peered up at me after a bit gently kissing my hand. "Hey pretty girl." His voice was soft and breathy as he sat on the bed next to me. "They said its broken but you'll only need a brace. Alex is on the phone letting Mark know hes gunna stay here and extra week to keep an eye on you." I rolled my eyes shaking my head a bit, "for someone who swears he's not a dad he sure acts like one." Cal nodded playing with a section of my hair. He had a very fond smile as he winked when my stomach rumbled loudly. "Well Im glad your appetite is back." Alex was leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed. He pushed off the wall and walked over brushing the hair off my face. "Can you tell me what happ..." "Alex..." "no Cal I want her side too..." he nodded at me with a soft look. "W well I took Cal to my safe space in the state park where I go when i i need to think a and I told him about some of the thoughts Ive had there and it upset him so he walked off a bit to calm down a and I had picked up a b big stone f for the note wall I made and when he splashed behind me it startled me and I accidentally dropped it on my hand." I looked down nervously only relaxing a bit when Calum kisses my temple. Alex looked more worried than anything, "so you weren't trying to hurt yourself?" "N no Alex i haven't t tried to do that lately I s swear. i I'm getting better please d don't make me go there again," i was instantly shaking when I saw the pamphlet in his pocket. "Hey woah woah I didn't say anything about you going I just took the pamphlet to get the doctors to shit up. I promised you after last time Id never send you there again." He was completely serious as he leaned over kissing my forehead propping his forehead against mine. I was still breathing shakily trying to shrink away from him. "Heather, I swear I wont send you back there I know how traumatic it was for you." He sat next to me hugging me to his chest as I whimpered and clung to him.

Calums pov

I walked into the hall with Lisa as Heather and Alex had their moment. "H hey Lisa where are they talking about," she peeked back before walking me further down the hall. "When Alex first took Heather in she was very... fragile... to put it lightly. She flinched at the smallest thing she was so afraid to say or do the wrong thing that she had a near constant stutter and would go days without talking." She sighed quietly as we sat in a private waiting room. "Alex got extremely worried when she stopped eating after one of his fans made a rude comment about her thighs one day. So when she ended up here after she passed out the doctors recommended a special psychiatric facility just outside of town... Unfortunately we didn't really do our research on the treatments they were doing on her, and she ended up calling us completely terrified after the third night. She had cried so hard she got sick and begged Alex to save her. I vividly remember listening to the phone call with him and hearing how absolutely terrified she sounded." She chuckled sadly saying she still got nightmares about it. "T they did so many cruel things to her in those three days: electroshock therapy, isolation, they even tried just straight drugging her to the point she couldn't know her own name. We had to take her to an outpatient facility so they could slowly wean her off the drugs... thats why she panics when anyone suggests putting her on anti- anything meds." "That explains why she clung to him when she came to the studio with us for our first album. She was absolutely tiny but she wrapped around him like a baby koala until Luke got there." I coukdnt help but smile fondly remembering how quickly they became friends. "Speaking of I should probably go call him and Ash im sure they'll be worried," I rubbed my face a bit mentally preparing myself for this call. I sighed and stepped outside sitting in Heathers small car dialing Ashtons number knowing hed have Luke close by.

C- hey ash Lukes with you right?
A- uh yeah hold on *clicks a few times putting it in speaker*
L- hi cally
C- hi Luke, so um I need to tell you guts something but you both need to stay calm because it's under control
A- ok
L- i make no aghhbm
A- ill keep him calm just spill
C- Heather and I went for a swim at a local waterfall and she broke her hand. The doctors say everything is fine shell only need a brace for a few weeks because its a simple fracture but I figured you would want to know.
A- ok do we nee
C- no you dont need to fly out! Alex and Lisa are here theyve kinda let the hospital believe that they adopted her as their daughter so shes gettingall the fancy treatments.
L- S so shes ok right(I could hear he was on the verge of tears)
C- Awe Lu yeah shes Ok I promise. Shes napping right now because they gave her some strong pain meds but Ill get her to call you when she wakes up ok?
L- p please. I i just wanna make sure yaknow c cuz shes my sister.
C- I know Luke and its ok you dont need to worry this will onky delay us a day or two I swear.
A- Okay go take care of our girl Cal Ive got luke and your pup
