Chapter 38|| Office

|Jungkook's POV|

I decided to meet with Taeyoon today. I still didn't want to believe that Jimin isn't truthful towards me but what could I do in this situation? He obviously was talking to him a couple of days ago, actually, I'm pretty sure that he's talking with him almost everyday. With that in mind I wanted to meet Taeyoon to see if she knows anything more, and if so, I want to know what.

I asked her to meet me in the same café as last time. She said she can be a little late but I didn't mind, it gave me more time to think.

Warming up my hands on the hot cup of tea on the small table, I stared through the window, watching the people pass by until a light tap on my shoulder brung me out of my thoughts. I turned to see Taeyoon standing there with a small smile. Forcing a smile I greeted her as she sat down in front of me.

"Why did you want to meet?" She asked me getting comfortable in the seat.

"So I went to Jimins work that one day.. and I saw him with that friend of yours.." I explained looking down at my hands. Taeyoon didn't say anything, I couldn't see her face expression either so I looked up to see her thinking deeply about something.

"Well okay, but did you see anything unusual between them?" She asked after a few seconds of silence.

"Define 'anything unusual'.." I felt a bit uncertain of what the girl means and if it will cause even more problems between me and Jimin.

"I mean, has he been paying more attention to him than others." Was her explanation and my mind went back to Monday when I wanted to see if Taeyoon was right (even though I should've trusted Jimin). Instantly I remembered when Jimin would giggle and constantly be next to the guys side when I was there and then later that day he was texting him. I gripped my jeans as hard as I could realising how horrible this whole situation actually was.

"Yeah.. he has.. they even have each others numbers." I said lowering my gaze.

There was a bitter silence above us at that moment and I couldn't help but suddenly feel the need to cry because of all of this.

"Jungkook.. maybe it's not the way it seems but I can't guarantee that I'm right or wrong. I'm just trying to make sure you're happy, after all we did have something before.. it wouldn't be right if I wished you wrong.." She said and I looked up seeing that very known look in her eyes that told me she cared about me.

"Taeyoon, thank you for caring.. " I whispered lowly with a soft smile.

"Of course, I'll always will. Also, I'll try and find out more about Jimin and my friend for you, unfortunately, after I told him Jimin is taken he stopped talking to me as if to ignore what I told him.." She said landing her hand on top of mine. I looked down having mixed feelings, I wanted to pull my hand away but I didn't want to upset her and also I did kinda need comforting like that. "But I'll try my best." She added smiling at me and I smiled back.

We sat in that café and talk to make the time pass by as I had another hour or two to pass before going to work.

Later on in the evening I was doing some paperwork and needed to photocopy some documents so I left my office to go to the public photocopier but felt a bit uncomfortable when everyone was staring at me. I tried to ignore it but the stares were too much. I turned around after getting all the papers and asked: "So will anyone tell me why is everyone staring at me?" Looking around the office I raised an eyebrow expecting an answer and refusing to go without it.

"Well Boss.. it's just unusual to see you doing things by yourself.." An employee said and I furrowed my eyebrows, as if a lightning struck him he continiued: "Not saying that you can't do things by yourself because of course you can but, you just usually send your secretary to do stuff like photocopying documents and such.." He added on fiddling with his fingers.

"He's right, boss.. it's kinda worrying.." Another employee commented while I lowered my gaze on to the papers I was holding.

"Well.." I begun gripping the papers tighter a little before looking back up with a fake smile on. "I just felt like I should do something different than usual." I answered which wasn't a lie but not the whole truth either. I didn't actually notice that I don't go photocopy documents myself, I guess with Jimin on my mind constantly and wether I'm imagining things or not kinda makes me a comeplete different person.

I don't think it's in a good way though..

I got back to my office and say in front of the paper work I had to finish by the end of next week. Getting a pen out to go through tho documents I was interrupted by my phone buzzing.

It was Taeyoon..

Taeyoon:

I was just going home from shopping and look what I saw..

I had a bad feeling about it. I began preparing for the worst as my finger hovered above the sent attachment, worried that I'll regret seeing whatever is in there, but it's probably something important, that I need to know even if I'll regret seeing it. I gulped before finally pressing the damn attachment only to look away feeling pain flowing through my body the second after.

Clicking off the attachment I started texting Taeyoon.

Jungkook:

Where was this?

Taeyoon:

At the park near the centre of the city.

Jungkook:

I see

Did you see anything else?

Taeyoon:

I don't think so.

I didn't bother replying anymore. I opened the picture again where it was clear that Jimin and that other guy, Jihoon were hugging... quite closely...

I felt the need of throwing my phone at a wall out of pain and frustration but I knew that my phone did nothing wrong in this and I don't want to break it and waste money on a new one. I sat back in my chair sighing.

I felt as if I Jimin was slipping away from me..

I finally updated after days (like a week) of not updating. I was busy with exams and I don't have anymore until next week as far as I know 😊
