"I just landed, Zhuang-jie! You can rest easy now." Ah Si assured her for the sixth time.
The very moment he exited the jet-bridge to the terminal, his phone has been bombarded with phone calls from his sister. The first few rings, he decided he'd ignore until he could meet Yu Tian. But when his phone rang for the tenth time, he gave up and answered it.
I hope nobody got a wind of my arrival.
"Are you ignoring me?!", his sister raged.
I wonder where the three idiots are right now.
"Wait— you could continue bitching in a minute. Security check", he responded.
I'm going to tell Lei to treat me to dinner for a month for this sudden favor.
He pocketed his phone as he went through the metal detector before being frisked by security; he held it up to his ear again right as he went past the long line of people en route to the baggage claiming area, making sure his large wayfarer glasses, all black mask and cap are in place. He hung his head down, trying to be as low key and as agile as possible, especially since Yu Tian is still nowhere in sight.
What's taking him so long anyway?
His sister's booming voice exploded on the other end, pulling him away from his thoughts again.
"DO YOU THINK IT'S WISE TO LEAVE LONDON LIKE THAT?! I EVEN BOUGHT YOUR FAVORITE IRISH ABALONE FROM ARAKI BECAUSE YOU TOLD ME YOU WANT TO EAT THEM. And THEN... I get home to an empty house?!"
All these years he has convinced himself that he is already used to her high-pitched screaming whenever she's mad. However, she still proves him wrong. He will never be used to it.
"I already told Yu Tian to pick me up."
"Stop leaving without a word! I'm not getting any younger. I just might get a heart attack because of you one of these days."
He bit his lip and tried to hold off his laughter. "You sound like Mom."
Between the two of them, his sister is the only one who inherited both the voice and knack for over-dramatics their mother has from being an opera singer for so long.
He just finished picking up his luggage and headed for one of the moving walkways to go to the waiting area to wait for his personal assistant to arrive.
"I will kick your ass when I get back there. How about I book your flight again and you could just—"
