It's as if Shancai was holding on to her own life as she held his hands.
His complexion white as paper, he turned to look at her tear-stricken face and smiled. "Stop crying, Shancai..."
"Then don't die on me, idiot..." she said, sniffing.
He chuckled and tightened his hold of her hand, even the slight squeeze taking a lot of his energy. "We both know it's time."
"You are a big idiot!" she shouted before collapsing on his bedside, crying as if every bone in her body was breaking.
He could only watch her, and that fact hurt more.
Perhaps his death will make things easier from now on... Because he cannot live another day with her looking and feeling like this.
As she lifted her head back up, their eyes met and he smiled his last.
He closed his eyes and the curve of his lips slowly became a cold straight line.
Shancai was left in such a state of disbelief that she continued talking to him as if he is still there listening...
"Lei...please... don't leave..." she begged as her heart disintegrated.

Xiao Yu sighed and shook her head.
Xiao Zi gave her a helpless look, biting her lip.
They both looked at the woman in front of them as she "chugged" another glass of wine.
"Shancai..." Xiao Yu was hesitant to completely call out their friend so she nudged Xiao Zi to help her. The latter then held Shancai's hand before she could bring another glass to her lips.
"I think you've had enough."
"Nooooo, aren't we shuposhed to have furm?"
"Yeah we were supposed to - IN A COFFEE SHOP - but then you dragged us here!" Xiao Zi said as she gestured to the blinding lights and bodies grinding on the dance floor.
Shancai momentarily snapped out of her drunkenness and looked at Xiao Zi with a straight face. "I am not going to a boring coffee shop and talk about my feelings."
"We are just worried about you. It's been two years..."
"I perfectly know since when Xiao Yu, I have yet to lost count..."
"Shancai..."
Their friend stood up, grabbed her purse and walked out wobbling a bit.
"Aren't we going to stop her?", Xiao Yu panicked as Shancai disappeared from their sight.
