"Sir, it's him. It's the same person."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes sir. The crime scene looks exactly the same. I'm certain it's the same person."
"Tell the men to make sure not to mess up the crime scene. I'm on my way."
Inspector Yan stepped on the gas as the traffic light turned orange. He just received a call saying they found another body in an abandoned warehouse on the 88th Street. This would be the fourth victim of the same kind of murder. It was evident to the police force and probably the whole of Shanghai that this was a serial murder. Four victims of the same crime in the last four years and still the police had no leads. This guy was really good at what he was doing. There has been no DNA residue found in any of the victims' bodies that would give any lead towards the killer, nor has there been any CCTV footage of him anywhere around the areas where the crimes had been.
A perfect murder,
A pro.

"Sir, it's weird." the young officer anxiously said as he approached the sergeant, confusion evident on his face.
"What do you mean it's weird?" Detective Ximen stopped in his tracks to face the young officer. " Didn't you say it was exactly the same?!"
"Yes sir. At first I thought the crime scene looked exactly the same as well as the position of the body. But after the forensics arrived and Dr. Lei examined the victim, he discovered bruises all over her body."
Well this was new information.
Detective Yan's brows furrowed, stress evidently seen on his face now that this new detail has arisen. They had been certain this was another work by the same serial killer, but the beating? It wasn't how this was done before.
"Where's the body?"
"Let me lead you sir."
The young officer led him through the patio. Upon entering, detective Yan noticed how the girl must have come from a well-off family. The house was huge. The living room was decorated with Victorian Camelback sofas embossed in delicate flower carvings, the wooden edges painted in classic mahogany stain with white satin semi-gloss finish on the cushions. Antique vases are all over the place with porcelains from the Qing dynasty, ceramic ones laiden in detailed paintings of Chinese gardens and palaces. This doesn't seem like a case of robbery.
