Chapter 9

I woke up. My mind was blank, I blinked a few times to adjust my eyes to my surroundings. I found myself lying on a bed, the room was magnificent. One wall of the room was almost a full window, facing out to show all the woods down below, the room was massive and spacious, but it clicked. Shite it was light out side, I never went home I got out and started heading out the room door, as I creeped down the stairs things started to look more familiar, I was in Luke's house, I slowly creeped further downstairs till I heard voices coming from the kitchen I stopped dead in my traps and kneeled down to listen up. "she has to go Luke, she's in danger and we can't except her!" A voice said, it sounded like Emily "Yeah Luke she has too! And now Emily has shown our secret" another said it sounded like Layla "No she can't leave just yet, we have to protect her. She came to us, we must help and protect her for what's going to happen next" a softer voice said walking by me towards the kitchen it was Chloe "Yeah Chloe's right !" Luke's voice called out, I decided to get up and head for the kitchen, I slowly walked in everyone turned eyes on me "Goodmorning Lilly" Chloe chirped from the dinning table, shite it's morning my mum will be worried "Did I get a call??" I said worried "Yeah, your mum. I told her you where staying here tonight cause it was growing late and we didn't want you walking!" Khemce said as she walked by me "Oh okay" I glanced to floor, I could feel eyes on me, I looked up to see Luke staring at me, I drew eye contact with him, he glanced to the floor and walked past barging me while passing. I grabbed my shoulder and rubbed the pain away "Urg I'm leaving aswell" Emily walked past me drawing me a look, she hates me I can feel it. "Don't mind them too.. Hemmings are like that!" Calum called out walking in with Ellie. I just nodded not knowing what to say. The atmosphere turned awkward as everyone just sat and talked between each other. I picked my head up and saw the back door I walked over and sat outside in the decking out the back

I must of been out there for a while, it was so peaceful watching the birds fly down and catch the fish as they sprung out the lake, plants where rocking about as the wind blew along. No one really noticed I was out side, they where to busy talking about last night I guess, I've mucked everything up. Their life especially. The door slid open and out came Luke, he had clothes in his hands, by the look of them they where his. They looked massive. "Emm can I ask you something?" Luke said as he planted himself into the seat across from me placing the clothes on the table "Sure!" I said slouching back still looking at the lake "Why where you out there last night!" His voice crackled "I dunno, I saw a shadow and it ended up being Layla" I said making eye contact "Lilly you've put yourself into danger. These woods are not built for humans!" Humans? There they go again. Yes I am a human and so are they.. Well I think? "what do you mean by humans" my eyes looked over at him puzzled "Just get dressed all show you when your ready!" Luke jumped out his seat and left I followed and searched for the nearest bathroom "Wow his clothes are big" I muttered to myself as I pulled Luke's swear pants up tying them strong for they would stay, he gave me a plain white t-shirt I brushed my hair back with my hand putting it up with the bauble I always have on my wrist just in case. I walked out to find Luke standing in the hall "You ready?" His voice said. Where are we even going my mind started asking, I followed him through to the garage, there was about 20 cars in here.. My house is about the size of this one room. I followed him and got into the passenger seat of his car "Luke where are we going?" I said as I clipped my seatbelt "Just wait and see" he started up the car.

About half an hour later we pulled up to an abandoned railway line, why are we here. Luke climbed out and made his way into the trees at the other side, I slowly got out and followed his foot prints in, as I entered he wasn't there. All I could hear was rustling around me, I looked around "Luke?!" I shouted every so many seconds, I was sorta scared. Suddenly something behind me grabbed my flinging me over their shoulder. I looked down to see Luke "Hold on!" I grabbed to him tightly and we started making our way up something I wasn't looking as my eyes where closed of fear the whole way. He placed me down "Open" he said, I opened my eyes to see a river out and down below us. We were in a TREE!! I noticed how high we where stepping back taking a gulp "Heights?" He said laughing "No, I'm just surprised" I looked over to him "Luke?" My mouth opened "Yeah?" He said stepping closer "What are you?!" My mouth spat, did I really just ask that!! Stupid Lilly stupid "If I told you, you will run! Maybe tell everyone.." He sat down on a branch "No I won't, I promise all stay" I moved along the branch sitting down to face him "Lilly, well me.. Em.. My family, well we aren't family, well we are but not blood.." Luke's hands started shaking "Luke tell me all understand" all I could say "Well I never used to be like this, me and Emily we where just kids and now look at us we-we're.." His eyes shot black "You're?" My mind was ticking "VAMPIRES" he screamed out, fear started to fill my body. Shite what do I doo!! I stayed in place, maybe thinking he wasn't as dangerous "Why? How are you now?" I said trying to figure out "One day I was out with my little sister Emily, I took her out hunting with me. I always went hunting for rabbits like I did with my dad, but he died so me and Emily carried it on, we where out, it was amazing my little sister was so happy, it was her 12 birthday aswell, I wanted to do something special so we got up early and stared hunting to pass the time. But something's was lurking around the woods and Emily got kind of scared. What ever it was, it scared her!! I picked her up and I started running, running faster than I ever had before. We ran into the shack we lived in! And hid. What ever it was disappeared, finally it came to night and I threw my sister a little birthday party wasn't much only 3 people arrived but it was worth it for her she was happy, me and mother finally tided everything up, Emily was sleeping, suddenly all the lights turned off. It got windy outside. I could see eyes at the window. Those eyes I saw from that thing in the woods.. Suddenly everything went dark I heard Emily and my mother screams 'Luke Luke, wake up' I suddenly did and too see-" his voice trailed off tears building up in his eyes "-my mother lying there with Emily in here arms, my mother the colour of white, two holes in her neck blood running down and the same with Emily!! I felt my neck to feel holes as well, but I was alive!! I ran to the bathroom to see my eyes the colour of black, my teeth pointed.. First thing that hit my mind was!! I done this to them I killed my family, I broke I was on my knees sobbing my heart out. Then I heard a voice behind me. A man, telling me it was okay it wasn't my fault, behind him my sister she ran towards me, she was crying 'mums dead' that's all the words she could say I looked up at the man, he was like me black eyes pointed teeth, Emily turned the same aswell 'sorry I couldn't save your mother. Come with me all protect you both' the man said.. That man was ashton, he took me and Emily in, he's like a brother too us, we were the last he saved, before us he saved Ellie and Chloe two friends out drinking one night who got attacked by a vampire aswell, not our kind though. He also saved Calum and Michael. He's an amazing man, we're all family now" his voice stopped there he looked at me, tears where falling from my face. I felt so bad, he lost his mother to a Demond and now he has to live his life like one. "Luke I'm so sorry, I wish I could help!" I scouted forward "It's fine, I guess I need to forget about the past and be glad I'm alive" he looked up at me holding his hand out "We better get you home" I nodded and grabbed his hand he through me around his back and jumped from the tree to land on his feet, he drove me home right outside my house, it was only around 4 ish but I was glad to be home. I arrived in noticing no one was home. I decided to go to my bed as I still felt weak, but my mind ticking away to my self.. Vampires are real.
