Chapter 10

Whatever happened on the weekend never left my mind, Luke telling me he was a vampire. I didn't believe at first but then I remembered the colour his eyes turned when he grew anger blaming himself for what he and Emily became and the way Emily turned when she grew angry at what happened with Luke. I scouted of my bed and headed to get ready. School, how great.. I had biology first with Calum and Sawsan, maybe it won't be as bad..

I arrived at school, I still felt so week I stumbled over to the girls who where standing at the tree waiting for me "Oh Lilly you look weak!" Katie said as I reached her. She held my head up to meet her eyes "I'm okay just a little drained" I slouched my bag over my shoulder and turned around seeing the 'vampire' clang in my path. Chloe smiled over as she noticed me staring I gave her a quick smile back as I turned to face the girls "Lilly you need a day off, get some rest" Riddle said feeling my head "Yeah maybe sometime this week but not today". The bell finally rang Sawsan hocked her arm around mine and gestured me to start walking towards biology. We got in and took our seats, Calum walked in staring at me as he passed me to his seat, before the class started I felt a tap on my shoulder I turned around to see Calum bending over his desk "Luke told you didn't he" his voice almost silent, I nodded. "Don't tell anyone.. We're protecting you now, this must not be broken breathe about" his cold breathe hit the back of my neck making me shiver.

Biology finally ended I had English with Riddle, I made my way along. Riddle was already seated I stumbled over thumbing my bag onto the desk and throwing myself onto my seat, Ellie and Michael both looked around at me "What" I mouthed to them, they just turned around "You okay?" Riddle said placing her feet on my chair "Yeah.. I guess".. "psst" a voice from in front it was Ellie "What?" I whispered back "Not a breathe broken!! Or we aren't protecting you" Ellie flicked her hair of her shouldered and turned back around to start writing again. Why are they protecting me? I'm not in danger? The rest of the day went by slow. The group didn't keep their eyes off me all through break and classes as I passed them all. Why are they all protective about me?. I passed them all as I walked over to my mothers car at the end of school, Luke grabbing me as I walked past "Hey" his voice broke "Hey" I ran my eyes over to where my mums car was "Can I pick you up later about 7?" His voice almost to a whisper "Em okay?" I said giving him a look "Great see you at 7" he turned and headed back to the group, what was that about.. I walked over to my mums car and jumped in "Who's that boy?" My mum said as I was putting my seat belt on "No one mum? Some boy in my classes" I said turning around telling her to goo "Well he's cute" she said shrugging her shoulders and starting the car

It was around 6:45 Luke was coming by in 15 minutes.. Why is he wanting to get me?? I started to get myself ready, placing something warm on as it was nippy outside.. I heard a beep from outside I looked out my window to see Lukes car outsider I glimpsed back at my clock 7:00. He was on time I ran down the stairs telling my mum I was heading out and would be back around 10 hopefully. I ran down my porch and down to Luke's car, climbing in I could smell is colon and the smell of leather, it wasn't so good mixed. "So, em why did you want to suddenly get me tonight?" I said as I broke the silence through the car journey "Well I thought maybe it'd be good to get to know each other, since you know.. we're protecting you!" He pulled through the entrance of the woods I could feel the fear filling my body as we drove through, it all disappeared as I finally caught a glimpse of Luke's house. Wow it was more beautiful in the darkness all lite up. He pulled into the garage there was more cars than before "Why so many cars?" I spoke up as we stepped through into the kitchen "well all of our 'vampire' friends are along, we all want to know who we're gonna be protecting" wait what? Loads of people are protecting me "Emm" I said not finding the words to stay "Just stay behind me" I nodded and stepped behind Luke following him into the room their was around 20 bodies where in the room, all eyes where black, my mind started to whirl, I was getting dizzy. I felt my knees growing weak, I held onto the door frame to try and keep myself steady "Lilly!!" Chloe ran from the other side of the room letting go of Michael "Heyy!" I said finding my movement again "Guys this is Lilly, the girl were gonna be protecting from the clan" the clan who are the clan? "she's a human!!!" A voice appearing from beside Luke "We can't protect her!! She's doomed and she doomed us all!!" The voice said again "Lois!" Chloe snapped back "Lois is right how are we going to protect a human anyways?" Another voice appeared from beside ashton "kitty, it's easy!" Ashton said placing a hand on kitty's shoulder "I'm scared" a little voice came from behind my I turned around to see a girl a good half my age younger "Cara, come here" Calum called opening his arms, the little girl ran to him and Ellie "Yeah they are all right!" I spat out "how are they gonna protect a human, I've doomed you all, I've ruined your life's. I shouldn't have came here-" I crumbled tears forming in my eyes "-who are the clan, why am I in danger? Wait I've put you into danger!!" I shouted "Lilly it's okay!" Luke walked over holding his hand out "No, Luke it's not okay. Don't you see, I'm just a stupid human who's put your kind into shite" I let the tears roll down my face "Lilly listen, if they all knew you understood what we spoke about two nights ago they will trust you!" Luke's voice crackled. I looked up noticing that I must of looked so stupid right now "I wouldn't never want to hurt any of you, never, knowing your kind are real, makes me want to find out more about the world" I let it out. Smiles started to spread over everyone's faces in the room.

The night went better from their, I got to know everyone better, it weird to say. My friends are vampires. Really it's crazy, but I don't mind it. It started to become late I said goodbye to everyone as I followed Luke out the door and to his car "tonight was fun huh?" I said as I clipped my seatbelt in "Yeah it was" Luke said giving me a smile I blushed and faced out the window as we drove along back to mind. We pulled up outside mine I didn't want to go I was having a good laugh in the car with Luke "Well I guess all see you at school tomorrow" I faced Luke giving him a hug goodbye and stepped out the car. I gave him one last goodbye and made my way into the house. My mother and brother where both on the couch fast asleep, I guess the sat up and watched a movie. I switched the tele off and picked up my little brother to take him to his bed. I placed him gently down and kissed his forehead "Goodnight Peter" I said as I walked out closing the door, I should really be hitting my bed as well, I stumbled into my room and onto my bed, falling asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.
