Twenty Seven

Two months. Two months of being under his spell. He still won't let me go. He is controlling everything about me. He's even controlling Astro and when I'm having a medical emergency he'll hold onto her so she can't get to me. And I have to sit there struggling, all while my dog is barking and whining to be near me. She knows something is up with him too.

He's practically moved in, all his clothes are in my wardrobe on the high shelves I could never reach. My mum appreciates him being here as she had to go stay at my aunts for a while due to a family emergency, little does she know.

We were both sat on the sofa and my phone chimed, alerting me that someone had sent me a message. Before I had a chance to grab it, he had it before me. "Who's this?" He asks getting a little angry at me. "I don't know because I can't see my phone from here." I reply calmly. "It says it's from Chloe!" He shouts. "What did I tell you! I said not to talk to her or Lea!" He adds standing up. My heart rate increase and Astro jumps up from the rug on the other side of the room and comes over to me. "Stop being a wuss!" Get that stupid dog away from me!" He squeals at me as he pushes Astro out the way. She whimpers in response and I silently call her over and get her on my lap. "James. Please leave." I say calmly. He needs to get out of here before I have to call the police. "No. Why should I? I'm protecting you and you betray me." He says desperately as he takes a hold of my hands. Astro shifts in my lap and I look into her eyes and at the phone by the tv, hoping she realises what I mean. Please tell me our bond is so strong she will grab me the phone. Today is the day where I decide I've had enough. I have to call the police.

"I'm sorry. You know I don't like shouting, could to go get me a plaster from the kitchen please. I think Astro caught my hand with her claw when she hopped up here." I reply sweetly. "Sure. Wait here I'll go get them." He replies letting go of my hands and planting a kiss on my head. "Astro, phone." I whisper to her as James walked into the kitchen. Please go get it baby. Please. She quietly gets off of me, almost as if she knew that if she made a noise we'd be done for. I could hear James rooting around the cupboards for plasters as Astro walked her way back over to me. Thank god.

"Here's your plaster baby." He says as he skips into the living room. Just seconds before I had managed to dial 999 and stuff the phone behind a cushion. "Thanks." I say taking it from him. Now me and Astro just have to pray that they arrive soon and don't think this is a prank call. I could feel my anxiety rising as he sat down beside me and Astro jumped back onto my lap and placed her head on my shoulder. "Thanks baby." I say petting her. Please hurry the heck up before I loose it.

"Police open up!" A police officer shouts as there is a knock at the door. "Why are they here Jamie?" James whispers angrily. "I don't know James. Maybe something happened to my mum." I respond, faking about to cry. "I'll go let them in." He says quietly.

And that's the last thing I ever heard him say to me.
