Chapter 38: "If two points are destined to touch, the universe will always find a way to make the connection- even when all hope seems to be lost. Certain ties cannot be broken."

I bit my lower lip and glanced at the entrance of the coffee shop. He'll come, Sandy. He said he would come. 15 minutes ka pa lang naman naghihintay. He'll come.

Right now, I couldn't tell if I did the right thing by asking him to meet me just so I could stop his meet up with Addie. He said he'd go somewhere but I still asked him to meet me.

I looked at the clock on the wall. I knew that this would make or break my heart.

I closed my eyes and swallowed hard. Please show up, Dylan. Choose me. I felt like any moment now, I would break down.

"Sandy." My eyes flew opened and turned to see him. My lips parted upon seeing him. He smiled apologetically at me. "Hi. Sorry. I'm late. I got stuck in traffic. Have you been waiting long?"

I just stared at him, my eyes welling up, unable to say anything. Seeing him and knowing that he chose me over Addie this time filled me with so much emotion. Wordlessly, I stood up and hugged him.

"You're just on time," I muttered.

We watched a movie of my choice and had dinner at our favorite restaurant. It was past 10 in the evening, but I still didn't wanna go home.

"Where do you wanna go?" he asked.

I shrugged my shoulder. "Anywhere."

He smiled softly at me and drove off.

I was singing along with a song playing in his car when his phone rang and I knew it was Addie. I wanted to turn off his phone or checked if they were texting each other but that would be invading his privacy.

I looked at his phone which was still ringing. Just before he opened the car door, fortunately, it stopped ringing. I heaved a sigh of relief.

"I bought some chips. Is there anything else you want?"

Ikaw. "Wala na."

Pumunta kami sa Antipolo sa may overlooking. We sat on the hood of his car, drinking and watching the city lights. We were both just quiet, but weird, I felt contented.

His right arm snaked around my waist then dropped a kiss on my head. My lips curved into a smile. Mas lalo akong sumiksik sa kanya. I heard his deep intake of breath.

"Sandy,"

"Hmm?"

"Addie.." Nanigas ang likod ko. "She's back."

Suddenly I found it hard to speak.

I swallowed hard. "Nag-usap na ba kayo?" I tried to sound unaffected.
