Chapter 43: "What if you and I were meant to part ways, only so that we could find each other again."

"Thank you, Mr Reyes, for trusting me again," I said as I shook hands with him. He has just approved my ideas for their new products. 

Right after I got back from my vacation, I put all my time and effort into my work. I made sure that I had no time to think of anything else when I get home because of too much exhaustion. 

"When we came up with this new product, I knew you were the right person to do this. I will expect a lot from you."

I smiled. "You trusted me with such a big project despite the fact that I was just a newbie then, Mr. Reyes. Kaya makakaasa kayo na ibibigay ko ang best ko dito."

The very first big project that I handled was given by Mr. Reyes. He trusted me despite the fact that I was just a newbie. Therefore, I put my heart and soul into it. I was broken-hearted at that time because of my break up with Dylan thus, it helped me a lot to escape from the pain. 

"To be honest, I had my doubts then. It was a big project and as you've said you were just a newbie in this field at the time. But my kumpadre's son convinced me that I should trust your abilities, and I'm glad I did. The project was a big success, thanks to your creative ideas."

Bahagyang kumunot ang noo ko. "Sino, sir? I think I should thank him."

"Oh you probably know him. He used to be a professional player. Dylan San Diego. His father is a friend of mine."

Hindi ko na nakuhang intindihin pa ang iba niyang sinasabi pagkarinig ko sa pangalan ni Dylan. I was stunned. Hanggang makabalik ako sa opisina ko ay wala ako sa sarili. He helped me out even if we were not together anymore. Kung ganoon ay siya ang dahilan kung bakit nandito ako ngayon sa kinalalagyan ko. 

Right after my project with Mr. Reyes, sunud-sunod na ang mga malalaking projects na hinawakan ko dahil na rin sa rekomendasyon ni Mr. Reyes. Before I could dwell further, a knock broke my reverie. It was my secretary.

"Ma'am, someone is looking for you."

"Who?" I asked nonchalantly.

"Me," answered of the person behind her.

A million things were running in my mind while looking at her. Half of them could make prim and proper people horrified. My jaw clenched. I wanted to lash out at her so bad for once again being the root of my break up with Dylan. 

"What do you want? Say it fast and leave," I said coldly, trying so hard to hold onto the sane part of me.

She took a deep breath and gave me an apologetic smile. "I know I'm probably on top of your list of the people you never wanna see again." I just gave her a blank look, and she seemed quite uncomfortable because of it. 

"Look, I just came here to clear things out and apologize."

"Apologize for what?"

"For what happened in the past. I just really fell in love with him. Who wouldn't? He's every girl's fairytale guy, and being so immature and foolishly in love, I had to do what I could to get him," she said sincerely. "I really am sorry for trying to come between you and Dylan."

I raised my brow. "For trying to come between us?" I sneered. "You did come between us. You took his love away from me," mariing saad ko.

She suddenly looked confused. "Don't tell me he hasn't explained that yet?"
