Cha Aim POV
A day before the Millennial Ball…
It has been a week since that incident happen. A week had passed by without me showing myself in front of Ai Pete. I know that it’s childish of me but I can’t help it. I don’t want to see him, because every time I do I could only remember that nightmare.
A nightmare wherein even though he was the prince…
But sadly I am not the princess…
Lost in my thought I felt my phone vibrate, looking at the clock it was 6:00 o’clock in the morning,… too early, I reluctantly pick it up just to see that it was my friend Daili, thinking if I would answered it or to just let it ring , yet in the end I still did, I could never disregard her.
“Daili… what is it…?” I asked her as I lie on my bed and continue to look at the ceiling.
“Cha Aim thank goodness you answer my call…what happen I heard from Khuno that you were absent for about a week now…are you okay…are you sick…?”, the incessant question of Daili just made my head ache.
“Please Daili, not now…” I silently begged her.
“Cha Aim…please I’m worried about you…I feel guilty…”, just from her friend’s voice ,she could tell that Daili is really feeling guilty.
“Why do you feel guilty…” she asked her.
“It’s because I was supposed to be gone just for three days and here I am… still here…”, Honestly this friend of hers thinks too much.
“What are you saying…you are needed there, your mother is in the hospital because of pneumonia…I won’t hold a grudge on you just for that Daili…besides your family needs you”, she reason out, closing her eyes because suddenly tears start to form on her eyes.
“ I know it’s just that I’m your friend and friend stick together through thick and thin…and my instinct tells me that you guys need me especially Khuno…because he is being bullied and harass by those disgusting pricks”
“Daili…”, she uttered.
“Khuno doesn’t deserve it Cha Aim…I just can’t understand who would do such a thing…”, Daili is so sad since she heard of Ai Pete’s predicament at their school, but because she was far away it frustrate her.
“I know…Daili you don’t have to worry I won’t let Ai Pete be bullied any longer…I’m feeling okay now…so I will be able to go to class today…I won’t leave him…”, she continuously reassured her.
“Really…Cha Aim…it will really make my heart at ease knowing you’re with him…”, Daili said with relief.
‘I’m sorry Daili…’, I said to myself
I’m too selfish
……………………………………………………………...
Two hours before the Millenium Ball…
“Ai Pete, I’m really sorry that you had to drive all the way here just to pick me up…” I said as I walk towards him with my sweetest smile. He slowly shakes his head as he got off the car.
‘It’s okay Cha Aim, you and Ai Pring lives in the same area, and beside Daili, insist that we go there together”, Ai Pete said with a smile.
I felt my heart aches as I hear that bitch name, the corner of my mouth twitch as I tried really hard to continue smiling but it hurts…
I shaked my head to make this depressing thought disappear in my mind, exhaling deeply I followed Ai Pete who had walked over the other side of the car to open the door for me, I felt giddy and cherished but that too…soon crumbles into pieces, because there on the passengers is a bouquet of pink roses with a gold card with that girl’s name, I tightly clenched my hands.
