The New Breed (A HTTYD story)

Chapter 7

(Hiccups POV)
It has been a week, since our recent attack from Cryptid. The village was finally repaired from the damages. We added Fire Storm to our Book of Dragons, along with Cryptid who Fire Storm describes him as a Shadow Fury. I've been busy helping the village while Toothless deals with the dragons. Fire Storm flies off now and then, but he comes back at the end of the day if not sooner. Plus having a dragon that speaks human can really help us figure out what other dragons say. I was in my house grabbing some things when my mom ,Volka, walked in.
"Hiccup, you better come see this"
She said to me as I put my stuff down. I walked out with her to see Fire Storm with a paper in his mouth.
"What is that?"
I asked as he put it down on the ground and it opened to reveal a giant map of the Archipelago.
"I found this on an abandoned ship"
I looked closely at the map, I found Berk but, there were so many islands that me and Toothless haven't explored before I became chief.
"Thanks Fire Storm, this could help us greatly in finding different types of dragons"
I said thinking about the possibilities of whats out there.
"Maybe other Night Furies if possible"
Fire Storm said while looking at the map. He put one of his talons on a island.
"I can explore here first, it's farther away and since I'm faster then any other dragon it'll be quicker"
"Alright but take Toothless with you, you'll need all the help you can get, plus I made him a new tail to let him fly on his own"
Fire Storm nodded as he went to bring Toothless to the house.
"Are you sure you don't wanna go with them son?"
"I'm sure plus I need to stay and watch over the village anyways"
Fire Storm came back with Toothless, I got the new tail and put it on Toothless.
"What do you think bud?"
Toothless took off and flew on his own a bit to try it out. He landed next to us and purred.
"He says he likes it"
Fire Storm said to me.
"Heh your welcome bud, but you two better get going if you wanna be back by dinner"
Toothless and Fire Storm nodded as they took off towards the new island. Astrid walked up to me with a confused look.
"Fire Storm found a map that showed new islands that we haven't seen before, so their going to explore one of them"
"Oh..alright then"
"And Toothless has a new tail so he flies on his own if that's what your wondering"
"Yep ok"
We both laughed as we walked towards the great hall.

(Toothless' POV)
Me and Fire Storm just left Berk to go find this island. Since we were the fastest dragons it'll be easier for us to find it and go back home quicker.
"So Fire Storm"
He looked at me still flying.
"Yeah what is it?"
"So..did you and Stormfly ever..? Kiss?"
I said trying not to laugh. All I saw was his cheeks get more red.
*coughs* "oh hey I think I see the island"
He said as he went faster towards the island. He already landed so I landed next to him. We both listened out to see if there were anything nearby. Fire Storm started sniffing the air, then he started sniffing the ground as his pupils went from circles too slits. He started to growl, I don't know what for though? I didn't smell anything? He started showing his teeth as he started backing up. I tried too see what he was looking at, but I didn't see anything. He shot a plasma blast at the tree in front of us. It burned to ashes and nothing was behind it?
"Fire Storm snap out of it!"
I nudged him with my wing, as he shook his head and his eyes went back to normal.
"W-What happened?"
"You killed a tree that's what happened"
He looked at where the ashes of the tree were. He shook his head again.
"Heh sorry about that, I don't know what happened"
"It's alright, come on let's explore the rest of the island"
We took off to look at the island one more time. It had a big mountain, there was trees everywhere around it, the beach where we were just at, and a little waterfall by the mountain. Fire Storm flew towards the mountain as I followed him. I soon saw there were...caves? In the mountain. Me and Fire Storm flew to the biggest one their.
"Hello?"
I said as it echoed through the cave. Their was a low rumbling noise?
"I..I've been here before?"
Fire storm said as the rumbling got louder. We got into our battle stances ready to fight what was coming towards us. It was a....Bewilderbeast? Only it had scars and it's left eye was closed.
"You!!"
It said towards Fire Storm.
"I banished you from this island! And yet you return!"
"Wait what!?"
I looked towards Fire Storm who was just standing there.
"You, Night Fury. Why are you here? And why is this...monster, here with you"
"We come from a far island, where dragons and humans live in peace. May I ask why your here alone?"
The Bewilderbeast just stood there, mainly staring at Fire Storm.
"Sir...I..I return here because, I wanted to tell you about Cryptid"
That's when it hit me. He wasn't here to explore the island, he was here to talk to the Bewilderbeast.
"Hmm, you may speak"
Fire Storm walked closer and sat down in front of the Bewilderbeast.
"Cryptid...he tried to kill everyone at the island that Toothless is from. He isn't the savior, he...he's the one who gave me the powers that made me who I am. He did it so he could be praised by all dragons and become Alpha"
The Bewilderbeast sat there in silence.
"After you banished me, I tried to tell you but, he somehow took over my body and mind, making me believe we were attacked by humans, and making me kill everyone here...."
Fire Storm said as he lowered his head.
"Night Fury, is this true"
He looked towards me and so did Fire Storm.
"Yeah, it's true Cryptid attacked my home and nearly destroyed it and everyone there"
The Bewilderbeast growled quietly.
"We made the wrong choice"
He walked closer towards Fire Storm.
"Do you know where he is?"
Fire Storm shook his head no. The Bewilderbeast growled louder.
"I will keep my eye out for him, and if I see him I'll deal with him myself"
He said towards us. He looked towards me and bowed. I guess he knew I was an alpha.
"Fire Storm"
He said towards him as he looked at us.
"You no longer watch over me, you watch over the Night Fury with your life. Make your family proud"
Fire Storm looked down for a bit. Then he stood up tall.
"Yes sir, I won't let you down"
"And if you see Cryptid, you know what to do"
He nodded his head.
"We better get going, the others are probably wondering where we are"
The Bewilderbeast bowed one more time before going back into his cave. Me and Fire Storm took off back towards Berk. He was quiet for a while.
"Hey, you alright Fire Storm?"
He was quiet for a bit.
"Yeah I'm alright, it's just...that place is..was filled with so many dragons. Just seeing him there alone was..wrong"
"Hey, no one blames you. We all know it wasn't you"
He was quiet again.
"Hey I never knew my parents, I don't even think I lived on that island where you were from"
He looked up and towards me.
"I never got to know mine either, they were always busy protecting the alpha. They were never home, it was just me and Cryptid"
"Oh ok"
He shook his head.
"But it's nice I met you guys, my life's been better since I met you guys"
I laughed as he did too. Berk was in sight and it was dark already. We landed in front of Hiccups house. Fire Storm sat down outside.
"You gonna come in?"
"Nah I'm good out here"
"Ok well good night then"
I walked back in after he said 'good night' to me too. I saw Hiccup already asleep on his bed so I laid on mine. I fell asleep after a while.

(Fire Storms POV)
Today was a day I hoped too see, the alpha forgiving me for my crimes. But...still sad to see the island empty. 'Toothless said he never knew his parents. But I did...and I could never forget them so easily....I don't know if I should tell him or not. I need to talk to someone about it. But I'll wait until tomorrow' I thought to myself. I laid down on the grass and slowly fell asleep.
